10k miles may be ok for synthetic, not sure. IMO (from reading on here) not a bad idea to change the filter a few times between the oil changes. Examine the oil during this change also. Alot can happen over 10k miles.

Some clean ones can be had in Connecticut, that is where I snagged mine from a few years ago. GL with your upcoming project. MKIII's take a lot of TLC so be tied to that concept and she will do you right most every time.
