Thanks!

Why don't you actually get under the car and figure out where the leak is coming from? Then, and I know this is a stretch, fix the leak! If you keep playing this game you will end up with rod knock.

haha yea! i talked to aaron about it today..ive always known at least one leak is the rear main seal..we pretty much pinned it down to the rear main seal front seal and perhaps the cam seal...so were gonna go ahead and do those up next week..now even though im getting these seals done its still not necessarily safe for ME to switch to synthetic right? theres gonna still be other seals that could still be bad assuming that my main ones are bad...what do you guys think?

If you're doing the front main, do the oil pump drive seal as well. Once those are all done there isn't any other rotating seals that could leak.

ok so cam seal oil pump drive seal, rear main seal, front main seal...once i get those done woudl that take care of most of my seals that need to be replaced? meaning do you guys think from the limited information i have provided you, that i can make the switch fr om conventional oil to synthetic? or are there still other things that may leak. aaron says it is a very strong running car...and after we do this we've adressed every maintenance aspect of the car besides getting the internals actually rebuilt.

If you replace the seals you mentioned, you should not have any oil leaks from them - regardless of synthetic or not.

It's Not Important Bro
10k miles may be ok for synthetic, not sure. IMO (from reading on here) not a bad idea to change the filter a few times between the oil changes. Examine the oil during this change also. Alot can happen over 10k miles.

That's part of the beauty of an Oil Filter relo to under the passenger headlight so changing the filter does not require the use of a long armed-monkey.

Only other leak I could think of woudl be valve cover gasket. I currently have this condition.

from what i recall from reading the oil articles synthetics are good from 8k to sometimes even 15k depending on the oil you use..i may be wrong but that is what i last remember..and i got my valve covers done a month ago with driftmotion ^_^ so hopefully NO MORE OIL LEAKS FOR ME!!

Any PAO or ester based synthetic will go 8K easy...more than that and I would send a sample to Blackstone for analysis to make sure the oil is still doing it's job. I change filters at 4K intervals and add make-up oil between oil changes.
