The Hot Rod Power Tour, Supra Powered Maverick

Having to do this over, I would definitely go with a 7M-GTE. Everything related to a MKIV or 2JZ-GTE is 3-4 times as expensive. It might not have been my money, but I still tried finding these guys the best deals possible on parts and was shocked at what people want, even for used parts. I could...

The Hot Rod Power Tour, Supra Powered Maverick

Last week we finished the underside of the car, now it's mainly just the wiring that needs to be finished along with the fuel system under the hood. After talking with the guys at Spectre Performance, it was decided that the Power Tour is approaching too quickly, and everyone would...

All of the aluminum pieces have been bead blasted, and I always coat them with this stuff. It's aluminum shavings suspended in a binding agent. It's good for 1100 degrees, and always stays shiney, doesn't oxydize! High Temp Coating:

I was going to stab the engine in it today, but need one stinking part that I never thought of until today. The C-clip that holds the Throw Out bearing in place. I'll have to get one from the dealer tomorrow. I stuck a Chevy One wire alternator on it to make wiring easier. One wire goes to...

What's up guys? Sorry I haven't posted in a bit, it's balls to the wall on this thing. The chassis is pretty much done, waiting on my ass to solve the pieces to the JDM 2JZ puzzle. On the chassis, we've pulled our hair out trying to make the coil over kit work. It was designed for a Mustang...

Project Cherry Widebody, finished! (New pics on post #451 and #511)

That sucks, having to motivate your painter, but all that matters in the end, is that you get the ride of your dreams. I think it will be a true masterpiece judging from the body work photos. I'm jealous of it for sure!

Thanks again for all of your help Jeff. JAWSGEAR helped us out tremendously on the 9" rear setup. It wasn't the case that it was interfering with afterall. The housing itself is thicker in the center than other 9" in the shop, so we had to modify the mounting bracket. It seems that most...

You're killing me Jay, you know I would have given anything in the world to see you and Lewis fight it out.......................... My thoughts exactly dugums. I wanted more of an open wheel to showcase the big brake kit, but Spectre liked these most because they fit the era of the car, and...

The Hot Rod Power Tour, Supra Powered Maverick

I picked up the engine from the machine shop on Monday night. I'm assembling it all this week and should have pics up by the weekend. Last night I pulled the Centerline Wheels off of my MKIII to use for wheel fitment. We ended up being able to fit a 285/18/40 in the rear and a 245/17/45...

The rear is finished, the mock up drivetrain came out today so that the front can all be disassembled and painted. Looks like I'll be able to get a 285 tire in the rear.

The $2008 Grassroots challenge build-up thread

Just do one fender like I told you, and you will agree! The soft scrub just removes most of the oxidation so that you don't have to work so hard with step 1!

Yeah, I thought of a Water to Air Intercooler, plus they are really cheap.................I just don't have time to build a system. I found an intercooler the same size as the radiator that will work.

Great car. Trust me, that paint can buff to look brand new. Wash it with Soft Scrub, then do all 3 steps of Meguiars Deep Crystal System. Around $20 for all 3 bottles, but you have to wax the car fully 3 times. I will personally gaurantee you will get the results!
