You really need to do some reading before you start in to this. It isn't a good idea to "Learn as you go" with this.
I have a HUGE thread on fullthrottletech.com that will take you through my experience all the way from running the maft in AFC mode to a full speed density tune.
There's...
A lot of people say to stay away from the AEM V1; but, how many of them had a bad experience?
I did research outside of SM and found a much more subjective opinion. Then I called just about EVERY tuning shop in my state and neighboring state to get their opinions/experiences.
I put a lot more...
Higher compression = lower detonation point = lower boost limit
Lower compression = higher detonation point = higher boost limit
Every engine is different and one person's results won't equal another's...
There's a guy on here running a 9.4 CR. At ~7 psi, his setup starts knocking any leaner...
Thanks for the input everyone!
The chatter will have to be an expense of the ability to reliably put down ~430 ft-lb of TQ to the wheels. As it was, the current clutch wasn't holding ~360. :nono:
And once I install my Flux Capacitor.....who knows what'll happen! ;)
On stock compression that's almost a no brainer (with proper mods); but, 9.4.....you might consider doing that on the dyno.
You could give Ryan a call and see what his thoughts are since he tuned it and knows the thresholds of your setup.
You should be fine with that HG/ARP Combo at 10 psi. Given that nothing else is wrong...
You're not going see 300 WHP with those mods at stock pressure. Likely not at 10 psi either. You're on your way though! :)
Thanks. I didn't mean to sound like a turd; but, when someone posts...
I am one that's rolling the dice. I've been running an HKS MHG w/ARP Studs with a machined head; but, on an "unmachined" block. That said, my block surface was flat and cleaned up exceptionally well.
If you're not ready for big power, just run the OEM with ARP's. That's a great combination...
If the level is considerably low, it will make noise. Follow the TSRM for the fluid install. I had a bit of trouble with that on my last engine overhaul.
BTW: Where you from? I'm from Chalmette!
Spoke with Ryan after sending him the pictures. He didn't see anything out of the norm so he chalked the slippage up to an improperly adjusted clutch pedal. Fair enough...
I then pointed out the discrepancy on the website regarding the TS2-XTSS and said that my purchase was based on the...
