    Slipping Clutch Diagnosis (PICS)

That's where my buddy's is. About 1-2 inches of "free-play" until it starts engaging. Bummer man... Yep, he said that the clutch looks normal and has no evidence of slippage; but, in the same breath he said that it looks like it is slipping due to an improperly adjusted clutch pedal...

    Slipping Clutch Diagnosis (PICS)

Well, Ryan at ACT said that the clutch wear looks normal. In fact, he said that it doesn’t look like it’s fully broke-in yet. He wants a couple more pictures of some specific areas of the pressure plate. I’ll get those to him tonight. Something else he asked me was if I had...

    Slipping Clutch Diagnosis (PICS)

Called ACT and they are willing to work with me. However, they haven't offered any details as to what that means yet. I emailed them pictures and am waiting to hear from them. They did correct me on the rating of the TS2-XTSS. They say that it's rated for 425 ft-lb of "Crank" torque. Their...

    Slipping Clutch Diagnosis (PICS)

Thinking back, I didn't have clutch problems until I switched to the Fidanza Flywheel. My previous clutch started slipping prematurely also; but, I thought it was because it was a stock replacement.

Sorry... 272's @ 226* Duration and 8.68mm of lift. I wasn't planning on shimless buckets unless the builder sees the need. I've learned not to shoot for a number anymore; but, with meth, I hope to see ~450 whp. Thanks Ron. It has been REALLY slow over here. I just pulled the tranny this...

    Slipping Clutch Diagnosis (PICS)

I'll call them tomorrow. At this point, what is the general consensus...new disk...new insert...new pressure plate...? To me, the pressure plate looks fine and the insert doesn't have any hot spots or warpage. Now the disk...that's a different story. A friend of mine said to just sand the...

    Slipping Clutch Diagnosis (PICS)

I cannot feel any warpage/waviness across the flywheel or the pressure plate. I never adjusted the clutch pedal. It's hard to describe; but, I would say that most of the engagement was about in the middle of the pedal. I never drive with my foot on the pedal either. I never had the flywheel...

It's a spare head. The plan is Port & Polish, 3 Angle Valve Job, Port Matching, Heli-Coils on Exhaust side, 272 Cams, Ferrea Dual Valve Springs (depending on how they test), Ferrea Titanium Retainers, Ferrea Valve Seat Locators, and Viton Valve Stem Seals. I have no idea what that will do for...

    Slipping Clutch Diagnosis (PICS)

Ah....gotcha. I see what you mean now. And yes. I agree 100%. The dark spots are unworn so a good conclusion is a defect in manufacturing. I suppose a call to ACT might be worth something. I don't expect anything; but, maybe from the description, they can tell me if it was a manufacturing...

    CajunKenny's Build Thread

I'd like to get a Giken; but, that is TOTALLY out of budget! That AEM took a huge bite out of my Supra Stash. I agree though. That clutch did live well at 350 whp, it really wouldn't have lasted at 500. No word on the springs yet. I don't remember if I've already mentioned it; but, the guy...

    Slipping Clutch Diagnosis (PICS)

Hi Steve. It looks warped to you? I thought I'd see uneven wear if that was the case. Not arguing, just giving my thoughts. At this point, I'm a little afraid to purchase another disk @ $157.00 only to have it slip without even getting close to my power potential. One thought I had was to...
