Sorry for the delay in replying Van...
What is the resistance reading from the rad itself to the negative battery terminal. From the coolant voltage reading, I'm going to guess that it's pretty high. In the Meg-Ohms. Which is what we want!
Hey Dave. We're just trying to get the rad...
Here's a tid bit of us passing various slow pokes on our way back over White Pass.
It was hard to drive with fins and a snorkel...

What a rip man. Sorry to hear it. This too is my worst fear.
Not that this will make you feel too much better; but, at least it wasn't part of some car jacking ring. That's the last thing we need around here!
Hi All!
A couple of us "Dry-Siders" are kicking around an idea of a meet somewhere over Tri-Cities way.
So, we're looking for a few bits of info.
1. Are you interested in attending?
2. Are you interested in renting a Dyno?
3. Are you interested in Autocrossing?
4. Are you interested...
Your readings of 2.1 and 1.7 ohms are what I would expect to see given your current setup. Basically, your radiator is a direct short to ground which makes your rad an electrical path for stray electrical currents. As mentioned, the factory setup completely isolates the rad from ground to...
Glad to help Van. :)
Can you double check the reading between the coolant and the negative battery terminal?
If the 200mv scale is the smallest your meter has then that's the correct one to use. Also, make sure the battery in the meter isn't low. I can't tell you how many times that's got...
Just for reference Van, here are the isolation related readings on my car.
Rad to Negative Battery Terminal = 1.1 Meg Ohms of Resistance
Coolant in Rad to Negative Battery Terminal = .18 Volts which is 180 Millivolts.
I'd like to see ~50 Millivolts. So, I've got some investigating to do of my...
Ditto Charles! Good to see y'all and thanks for hanging out with us for lunch!
Same here man. Thanks for all the parts over the years! :)
And yes! There is already something in the works for a Meet out our way. The initial idea is in September maybe...? I'll post it up when we get the...
Yup...yup... Having the left and right swapped put the bleeders in a different position. This was truly an amazing course of events; but, yes! One more supra back on the road! :)
There's my goof up for the week. Who's next!? :)
PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!
Ok. As much as I hate to admit this, the problem was all my fault. There are three reasons I am about to admit that I'm not perfect.
1. I don't like hanging threads. Folks post problems, get them solved, and don't post the fix.
2. Post the fix so the next person...
Matt: I just finished her up and will now be making it. Where/what time should the East Crew meet up with you? We've got three so far. As you know, we'll be coming in on 90 and will take I5 down. You still have my number?
I unfortunately do not have a heat shield for that turbo. I've been looking at turbo blankets. All other shields are in place.
I will sleep better at night having it re-routed. ;)
