Yesterday I picked up my first 4Runner. It's an 87 SR5 equipped with the Clinometer Package. So far, everything works.
She needs a little TLC; but, should be a great daily thumper.

His previous 996 would've been more in my power range; but, this new one is impressive.
This wasn't about winning. This was all about the opportunity to run such a beast. It was a crazy turn of events; but, now I have a pretty sweet memory to visit. :)...
First off…the bad news…my GoPro would not turn on so I have no video. SOOO Frustrating!!!

Yep, traded it in and brought home a 2010.
This one has a "Sport" mode that adjusts suspension and also ups the boost from 15 psi to 18 psi. I'm sure I won't win; but, it's going to be fun anyway!
My GoPro is fully charged and que'd! :)
I hate to think that my build thread is now considered "old"... :( (wink...wink...)
Thanks for the compliments! A lot has been done to the car since I bought it. It has been a frustrating road at times; but, I have to say......when everything is working as it should......these things are a...
Thanks IJ. I'm glad my memory hasn't gone way of the dodo...
I'm not differing with you here IJ because you are correct; but, the difference in readings between the two meters should be slight. Well...depending on the age and type of his meter anyway... ;)
If you can get them to do this...
I don't know what the normal limits are. I can only go off of my car. Maybe someone else can go take some measurements and post up their findings. I'd be curious to know.
I remember JetJock stating somewhere that around 50-60 millivolts between the coolant in the rad and the negative battery...
487 - 627 ohms might be the best we'll get. Mine reads 1.2 meg ohms; but, I went through great lengths of isolating mine.
Now we just need to get your bigger rad to be as isolated as your koyo. :)
Very nice! That's close to my power estimations since I now have a "NON-SLIPPING" clutch. :biglaugh: The butt dyno is feeling about ~390 now.
Thanks bro!
Sure, I'll help you with the Maft. A great reference is my thread on www.fullthrottletech.com. It has my whole experience in one...
That's a HUGE improvement; but, can still stand to be a bit better. Try taking off the top clamps and let the rad lean toward the engine and then see what the resistance reading is. We're getting closer! :D
Thank you sir! :D
I'm still running the stock exhaust mani so I imagine that it's sitting the same as yours. The only reason I'm not running a heatshield is because of my own laziness. The bolt hole in the top of my exhaust housing came with a busted off bolt in it. I simply haven't taken...
