Im unable to find 1JZGTE exhaust valves 1mm oversized. I'm getting head work done and already have the CP piston set.
I have called Driftmotion, Brian Crower and Ferrea and no one makes 1J exhaust valves. Ferrea can make a custom exhaust valve but they want $60 each!!
Need help.
Thx.
Welcome to the forum Mr. Goode. I have a few things laying around in the garage as I'm doing the 1J swap. Have a couple driveshafts and a extra trans but its a automatic and not for sure if its a W58 or R154. Also thinking about going carbon fiber hood so will probably have extra hood. Never...
After talking with a machine shop that has built a few 1J's I was told there will be a small amount of space left on the rod where the bearing sits in from side to side. That was how the stock rod bearing was and will use the same location for the new rod bearings. Just make sure you line them...
The bearings are in flush and here is a couple more pics of the bearings out of the box. It looks like there is not much there in the tang as far as the width is concerned. The depth of the notch isn't real critical as long as it is deep enough the tang doesn't bottom out. But the tang must fit...
Has anyone used Clevite rod bearings on their 1JZGTE? I have the standard size CB-1628 P and the machine shop told me the tang area on the rod bearing has to much of a gap from what he's use to seeing. I'll post a couple pics from my iPhone. Any help is appreciated.
Are all 1JZGTE rod bearings...
Thanks Bennie. Just checked out BBK and seen the aftermarket race and street brake components. Will add to the list as that should be a priority... LOL. ;-)
I have the 1J thats close to being completed and will be going with the Precision 6262 with 62mm divided turbine housing in a .84 a/r size with qsv and undivided manifold. I read on the SP forum and they were talking about the difference between 6262 and 6265. This is what they said...
"Real...
Just to let a few of you know I have already ordered parts for the 1JZGTE and its in the machine shop. Everything ordered is new starting with Hypertune intake kit with fuel rail & 90mm throttle body, 5 bolt TMS cam gears and TMS cams 264's, BC valves springs, CP piston kit .20 over, Oil pump...
That is good news Mike that your closer to Topeka and your getting that head for the 7M cleaned up! I'll catch up with you sometime soon. By the way, the head for the 1JZGTE is taking some time as it takes several hours for just one port to get ported/polished. RBgarage is doing the work for me...
Hey Bennie,
Where are the pictures of the 92 Supra and are you going to keep it? Hope the 97 Supra is coming along ok!
You know I could take another one way plane ticket and pic up that 97. LOL....
Hey Mike,
Would like to get the 1J done soon but I really depend on these guys in KC to help me with it. I met them a few days back and they really have it together and was amazed at the work they have accomplished with their own Supra's.
Hey alucardunit1,
Sounds good, just pm me and let us know what days you can meet up. I look forward to meeting up with everyone anyways to share whats plans I have with the 1J.
Finally found some good guys that are willing to work out a good deal with me in trade for my 7MGTE and R154. So now let the transformation begin. lol... ;-)
I have the engine and trans on Craigs-list in Kansas City under parts. There has been a few calls and I've been offered 1000 for everything and thats fine. Will probably do that and let all the spare Supra parts go such as extra trans and driveshaft. Hope someone from the forum gets it first.
Hey Mike, wanted to share this guide with ya on gear ratios. Let me know what yours is. Mine is 3.73:1

Thanks for the tip guys as I thought the JDM 1JZGTE MKIII was only r-154. I could not find any more info on it and good to hear from others with knowledge about JDM 1JZGTE Supra's.
Sounds good bluebullet89 and let us know when you get in! If you know of anyone needing extra parts let me know.I have a drive shaft, extra auto trans that no one will probably want. lol... Eventually I'll have the spare 7MGTE and R154 manual laying around and will need to get rid of that to...
