I have to ask as I have searched and unable to find.
Did the JDM MKIII Supra 1JZGTE engine always come standard with the R154 trans? Not to be confused with the USDM Supra.

The 1jz engine from factory was always bolted to the r-154.

The supras and other vehicles also came with the a430 auto tranny as well.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, don't have access to my files until later, but the 1jzgte was indeed both auto and manual. For the mkiii specifically, I need my files to confirm.

Thanks for the tip guys as I thought the JDM 1JZGTE MKIII was only r-154. I could not find any more info on it and good to hear from others with knowledge about JDM 1JZGTE Supra's.

Yes you are right, I was only refering to the 5sd. In other words, if the transmission is 5spd its an R-154 and not a W-58.
