Adding a few random pics of parts in the garage.
I'm installing the ARP Head Studs to the block in a day or two. It recommends using the fastener assembly lube but also states that Loctite can be used while torquing to 80 ft lbs. Has anyone used Loctite for the head studs? thx.
Whats up suprahero,
No dyno sheets for the intake manifold.. not yet anyway ha ha. The HyperTune manifold is intended to be used where maximum horsepower is the requirement. There most common for drag racing. Yea I know its a bit overkill to say the least but theres always room to grow. Little...
Hey Indigo,
Yes you would need plenty of fuel, turbo and injectors to support good hp numbers. I'm currently working on the block and transmission right now but fuel will be coming soon. As far as the turbo I attached a link below for the turbos claimed ratings. Injectors I've seen good numbers...
Hi to everyone in the Supra family,
Not for sure when the best time is to start a build thread not knowing how long its going to take. :icon_bigg
But why not start now! Heres my story...
I found this 1992 black MKiii targa 5 speed turbo for sale with dark shadow gray leather interior. I was...
Your Supra looks great and appreciate you sharing all the pics of the progress. The Defi gauges look awesome! I think the tach and speedo would look trick to if there was a way to match them up with the lighting. The XXR wheels look really nice and fit well with the body. Do you have the specs...
I ended up going with item#1jzgtequicksilvermanifold at the supra store with the open flange for QSV and had it ceramic coated. Dfiftmotion, SPracing and the Suprastore all have good stuff. I've shopped at all of them. Haha.
The black Mk3 looks really good and the 1J swap will make it that much better. I have a black 92 doing the same swap and just about to put it all together. By the way, do you have any pics of your interior?
Hey Bennie! Glad you found a MK3. It must be awesome to have both the MK4 and MK3... man your so lucky. We gotta catch up one day at a Supra meet or something man. ;-)
Looks like I have no choice but to get the valves. Ill be running a similar rpm range as te72 with 20+ pounds of boost and 600+ hp range. I will call the machine shop about valve seats, guides and anything else needed before ordering the valves. Thx soapra.
Hey Soapra,
What valves do you recommend with BC springs and valve seals? Can you get oversized intake/exhaust valves or are they stock size?
Edit: I did call Brian Crower and Driftmotion today and they don't have 2mm oversized valves.
I may settle for just a port/polish with BC springs and valve seals. I'm running 264 Titan cams and the stock valves are in good shape.
Edit: Curious to know if anyone else has ran with CP piston set from Driftmotion and over sized valves.
