I get quite a few second looks while driving down the highway. I think most people just don't know what it is. The other day a guy pulled up next to me on 183 Airport Frwy and drove along side of me until I looked and he gave me a thumbs up and pointed to my car.
When I had my 1985 Celica...
Don't freak out just yet!!!
Does your cap look like this:
That was my oil cap right after a headgasket repair. What it turned out to be was all the assembly lube on the cam journals from the machine shop. You need to do another oil change and wipe the cap clean. I had to wipe it clean...
I've seen his and it actually looks pretty good. You should post some pics up Derek.
My 86.5 had one on it when I bought it and it was always slipping off and just plain looked like crap. The dash was discolored under it very bad but not cracked. So when I pulled the dash to swap wiring for...
I can't quite get there with mine either. Same year/tranny. 27 mpg is the best I've gotten so far. The car is completely stock.
:biglaugh:
Like me. :wavey: It's not all about the HP but the experience just cruising down the highway. If I had an R154, which could be a possiblity as I...
I was driving to work this morning at about 6:30 am on 183 going toward the Airport when a red pre-89 Supra passed me exiting onto Precinct Line Rd. It had a web address on the rear bumper in large white letters and I don't remember the website. Anybody know who's car it is?
I think the only sensors you might have trouble with are on the thermostat housing. I might just be thinking GE vs GTE. I'd double check that area just to be sure. 89 is a funny year, wiring wise, for supras.
So you bought your car new? Excellent. That means your up in the age dept like some of us.:biglaugh:
We are some pics of this gem? Let's see 'em.
Congrats on getting it fixed, now drive and enjoy like you have been for the past 20 years!:icon_bigg
A damn good running one at that!:icon_razz **knocks on wood**
I must tell you though. I don't think I have ever whinged. Is that the Aussie variation of whining? :sarcasm:
The car has been running pretty good but I've been needing to replace a few things.
The coupler between the 3000 pipe and TB was cracked, and has been, for some time. I ordered a coupler from Driftmotion to replace it with. It's not stock but it doesn't leak and it was cheap.
Old...
Check the underside of your oil cap. Anything white or milky?? The more you describe, the more it's beginning to sound like.....nope, not going to say it.
