What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Here's one that actually involves enjoying a Supra instead of fixing it! Hubby and I took the cars out to the Grads-n-Dads car show here in Lexington today. We entered the import class. His car (mint '96 SC300 with 80k original miles) My car (1990 with 159k on shell, 3k on engine)...

As these cars get older its harder to find a "low mile" car......

$400 for parts car. You said the interior was bad. Spring/summer is a bad time to shop for bargains. Keep shopping. In September/October go back and offer him $400 cash and you will have a parts car.

Occasional backfire on interstate, one stall..

Well, I posted too quick or I forgot to knock on wood or something, but the car stalled again. Pattern is, it stalls when temps get up to 85 degrees. Ran it like crazy in the morning, but after lunch the temps went up and I was barely able to get it in the garage. Pulled code 31. Luckily, Allen...

As these cars get older its harder to find a "low mile" car......

My rule of thumb is, if the Sup doesn't run, $500 max. Offer cash in hand. Amazing how well that works. However, if the car was pretty complete with a decent interior and exterior and still didn't run, I might offer more. This one might make a good parts car. Rust is also a BIG issue...

Occasional backfire on interstate, one stall..

I purchased the Apexi kit from Driftmotion along with DM's silicone hose to replace the accordian hose on the intake. I also checked all hoses along the way. So far, with this setup, no stalls. Haven't had it on the freeway yet to see if it still backfires, but this is promising.. Should I even...

    Horrible MPG, No Apparent Problems

I got terrible mileage in my 90 GTE until I did the following: Replaced O2 sensor (*VERY* important), replaced stock intake with K&N filter, replaced stock exhaust with 3" hi-flow exhaust. These were all done in one swoop, but as a whole, my MPG's jumped. Also, its not expensive to get your...

Occasional backfire on interstate, one stall..

A few years back everyone said that k&n's were great, they were the way to go, blah blah blah. So are they not good for any car? or is it just the sensitivity of the AFM in the sups?

Occasional backfire on interstate, one stall..

Yea, thats the Cygnus reference I was using. The car tried to stall again the next day, but just that morning. That afternoon it ran great. I went ahead and parked it. The AFM may be shot. I have a K&N, and some say those oiled filters can mess up the AFM. The AFM is old. I've never replaced...

Occasional backfire on interstate, one stall..

I've got a weird, very intermittent problem with my new build. The car is mostly stock: stock IC, stock BOV, K&N intake, 3" full exhaust, .57 trim DM turbo, 7m-gte rebuilt top and bottom. Twice in its first 3,000 miles, I faintly heard a backfire. Both have been at high speeds on the interstate...

Broken switch on seat - what's missing?

No, it doesn't work if I move the adjuster. Thats whats got me stumped. It used to work. All the controls did. Yea, I might as well tear it apart. Thats usually not too hard :)

Broken switch on seat - what's missing?

Sorry for the late response, here are pics: I can understand the little cover getting knocked off, but I can't get figure out why whats left on the seat won't engage anymore.. I've never even tried to take the controls off a seat. I've either had good seats to begin with, or had an...

    Drone problems; Sound Deadening Needed

I have a hi-flow cat and a Tanabe Hyper-Medallion 3" SS exhaust. I'm not thrilled with the big can look, but the setup is very quiet, no drone. I picked up a growl to the engine after the rebuild and the stock turbo elbow was replaced with a full 3" elbow. I believe the new turbo elbow is...

    White package

Dealers pinstriped everything back then. Remember when it was real popular? I pinstriped a few of my personal cars. If you got an eye for it, its not that hard.. Nowadays, on modern cars, I don't think it looks that great. Hardly ever see it. I wouldn't stripe a sup though.

Broken switch on seat - what's missing?

When I got my car back from repairs, I noticed the switch that reclines the seat was broken. Here's a pic of where the switch used to be, and a pic of the switch and possibly another piece that goes to it: I appear to be missing a piece. Maybe. I can't just put the switch cover back...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

I have an original owner's manual for my Supra and it doesn't say a thing about a penis being required for operation. Nope, not even for the 5-speed! I do believe the insurance companies would also beg to differ with your opinion! :P
