I have an old thread somewhere where I converted an 89 harness to go into my 92, i'll get you a link shortly. It has some awesome info in it mixed with my ignorance LOL
I just listed a set of them on ebay this morning. They are complete holders with the rubber pieces intact. Many of those rear holders will not stay up, and will drop your top into a difficult position. Those I listed are still strong.
You can't really go wrong with a complete turbo car for $800. BUT, your goal and your plan don't match up too well. You want reliable, but are hoping to just slap a head on an open motor to get it. Plan on rebuilding that motor
If you don't pull that motor and have it rebuilt, we will be waiting for the Rod Knock thread. You should go back with a metal gasket, but you should also research the proper RA values that you will need for that to work.
All good reasons I guess, but admit it, it's all because you are old as hell! Really if you want a smooth ride and a speedometer, just get in the damn SC!
It is a bitch to get to! You will need to get your whole arm into that hole. It's even worse trying to get it all back together with a new latch. It can be done though. Also, I believe I have opened one with a screwdriver on an old car where paint didn't matter
I have wondered if there was a way for it to be getting into the motor, but thought I was being stupid. Is there a way to check that valve?
I added another bottle (pint I think) yesterday and it drove 3 miles home and worked fine. When I go there, it had about 1/2 the reservoir still there...
For all you Nay-Sayers who always give me shit about all of my pictures being taken in my own yard, I dedicate this picture to you! And, an update for the rest of you nice people.........the car is now running great, has a current License and Insurance. It has now moved into the road...
As many around here know, my car has not gone anywhere since I bought it in '09. I now have it running right, registered, and insured. My first few drives have been short ventures, and it seems I'm now old enough to give up on being tough enough to go without power steering.
At one point...
Very nice starting point! Justin is a member of the group. Invitation sent. There is not a lot of traffic in there, but it's a good way to keep track of the 92's that are still on the road. My guess is that there are only about 700 of them left
