I got mine from Redline, too. I made the mistake of initially ordering the Medium Gray for no other reason than that's the color my interior looks like to me. It turned out to be WAY too light. Redline took them back and sent me the Charcoal replacements you see in the pics. For...
I took them out to Wheels America. They powder coated the vents black then machined the faces, then powder coated the whole rim in clear. The tech was a Supra fan so I got a nice deal, too!
I ordered the cover from Redline but did the work myself. Pre-stretching the cover over the lid and contact cement did the trick. I think it came out great.
From the picture of your interior, it looks like the leather on your shift knob is shot. It's very minor surgery to remove it, and underneath is an elegant, smooth black vinyl knob. If enough of the leather is left to make a pattern, you can send it to Redline Goods for a new cover. Until...
Finally got around to posting the pics of my new Shift and Brake Boots and Armrest Cover. The camera really picks up the difference between the leather and vinyl console but you don't notice it at all when you are in the car. Next I need to do something about those TEMS buttons!
Wow. Looks like the previous owner wanted to be the first to drive on fresh asphalt and drove too close to the back of the tar spreading machine... It's gonna take more than Goo Gone to take that off! Don't worry--there's a Supra under there. I saw your post on the 'What did you do to your...
I completed the foglight rewire using Dylan Wiggins' pictorial as a guide. The only change to his method was to use an Add-A-Fuse instead of an inline fuse holder and butt connectors instead of wire caps--both neater and safer. The only problem I had was getting my head, shoulders, hands...
Gov Guam was always the biggest and most corrupt employer on the island. I hated "election" times when all the scenery would disappear behind the "Vote for Bordallo" and "Vote LeonGuerrero" signs. The scuba diving was always great, though!
No, I rotated out of Andersen way back in '89. I visited once back in '02, but that was the last time. Good luck with your truck. I know they repaved Marine Drive--I hope they didn't use coral as aggregate again! I used to slide through intersections after rains because that shit was so slick!
Hafa Adai dude and welcome! I sold my '82 MkII Supra back in 1984 before I moved to Guam. I loved my car too much to take it over there and watch it rust. I bought a new '89 MkIII five years later when I left and still own it. I can't believe too many Supras have survived the years on the...
Finding a car that you really like and want enough to buy brand new is the way to go for the long haul. I bought mine just after it rolled off the boat back in '89. I've almost always driven it like an adult and I've always taken care of it. If you follow that method, any machine will last a...
I don't know Hero. I can say after 26 years, I have never contemplated selling mine--even though it sometimes takes more than a new-car payment to keep it running well. I have, once or twice, considered what car would be a worthy replacement if some clown T-boned me but I've never found a...
Thanks! I wish my paint was holding up as well as yours. Has it been repainted? Even though mine has always been garaged, after 26 years it is mighty thin in spots. Paint job is my next big investment. Staying with Red, of course!
Thanks ERA! Mk3forme--these particular caps are "capped" themselves with a thin layer of aluminum. I was able to strip the paint off them and shoot them with clear coat. You can read the details in my Intro post...
They were done by Wheels America for $400. They powder coated them black, machined the smooth surfaces and then powder coated them again in clear. I really like the way they turned out.
Silver--As you know from my Intro thread, http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?207730-Old-guy-with-a-great-old-ride-but-you-knew-that-part!, I despaired of finding TEMS compatible replacements for my OEM suspension and reluctantly decided to go with Fortune Auto 500 Coilovers...
