I recently picked up a 1988 MKIII parts car. While checking the engine out I noticed the turbo had a really small inducer size on the compressor wheel. I know there have been many variations of the CT26 but which one is this? Any ideas?
It says CT26 on the compressor housing but does not say...
This is true. Imagine my surprise when I ordered a cap, with all the rest of the hoses that were going to be replaced for the rebuild on my 92, and I go to put it on but there was nothing there. My mistake using my brothers 87 to create my shopping list.
Rarest MKIII part I have is the NashMan V2 short shifter. Heard only a few hundred or less were ever made. I'd post a pic but you already know what it looks like. :slap:
Proper oil temperature control is an excellent thing for many reasons. The problem with the factory setup is that it is pressure controlled, not temperature controlled. Switching to a temp controlled setup will yield far more stable oil performance. With the factory setup, at any point the oil...
I've have wondered about this. What is the pulley size difference. I ask because while there are two pulleys listed they are not always separated by a PPS system. take for example, Non-PPS was available on the NA MA70 clear through 1993. However the original pulley, PN:44311-14050 was not listed...
That does seem to be the case, though Toyota refers to it as a hydraulic reactionary chamber, and it's not part of the pump. Most other parts places do seem to refer to it a hydraulic reactionary pump. Intresting. The only noticeable difference between the pumps seems to be the flow control valve.
The SAFC doesn't eliminate fuel cut. However when tuned by an individual familiar with the SAFC, it can alter the signal to the ECU enough to prevent the fuel cut point from being seen at the ECU. But you can only push that point out so far before available fuel and ignition timing start to...
I would go to your Toyota dealership, they're not to expensive and even less if you buy online. The location sees a lot of heat and is a pretty harsh environment. And if it fails you're overheated on the side of the road with a possible warped head. Not something you want to put your trust in on...
That is normally capped off.

You will probably find that hose is setup to serve same purpose. That is there so the 7M can be put in either left or right hand drive cars, you just switch which side the cap is on and...
Hvyman is probably right, however check your fuses. There are three for the alternator, and can cause the alternator not to fully energize.
Engine Bay:
FL ALT 100A
Driverside Kick Panel:
10A ENG Fuse
7.5A IGN Fuse
Never hurts to take a look at these before you go back to the parts store.
Wouldn't make a difference anyways. The later model speedo is scaled to a wider speed range. But for both speedo's ~17.1 RPM's = 1MPH. So both would read 77mph at a GPS 70mph. The issue is in your speedometer gearing. Both the drive and driven gears need to be changed to get the correct speed...
The reason is, that it is a very destructive tuning item when used in an uneducated or improper way, which more often than not it is. There were a large number of people that did kill their engine in the early days. Those pages existed on the pre-pre-crash forums and mailing lists. The HKS FCD...
Not exactly. One bearing(PN#37230-14061), is for the MA70's produced between 01/1986 - 08/1987. As you know, only the NA(so no turbo) version of the supra was produced during this time. Then when the turbo model was introduced in 08/1987 it brought a redesigned drive shaft. The...
Umm, as it relates to our cars, no, and no.
First, do not use any filter that has an oil impregnated element(K&N) for filtration on any system that utilizes a Karmen Vortex style air flow meter. The karmen vortex meter measures the vibrations in a reflective strip of foil to detect airflow. If...
