The pictures were for someone who wants to bypass the relay that switches the fuel pump between 9V and 12V operation. Plug that thing back in and go over to the driver side of the car with a paper clip. Open the diagnostic connector by the fuse box and jumper the B+ and the FP, the try to start...
And by jumpering B+ to FP you did this:
http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=FI&P=71
NOT what was shown in pictures a few posts above, correct?
Like JJ said, since the +B to FP jump bypasses everything, no point in trying another COR. Are you sure there is enough fuel in there to start the car? Not going by what the gauge says but did you physically put enough in to start the car?
I'm not sure I can vote in the poll, as I don't think my choice would be best for your particular situation.
It sounds like without fully intending to you ended up with a car that was going to be a challange just to get to a good starting point. It doesn't sound too far gone, but it's a...
What Nick is trying to get you to do is to put the transmission gear selector in "L", and drive the car(not hard and not far), and then tell us how it behaves. Doing so and correlating it with the chart will help us identify which specific clutch, brake, or solenoid is misbehaving.
Nick is...
I'm freshening up a 7M and I am looking to replace the snap rings for the piston wrist pin. Unfortunately my Toyota dealer has stated that there are only 9 left in the system, and I need 12. Is there an alternate part that is known to work as a replacement here? I've heard that certain JE...
Indeed.
To answer this we would need to know more about the push button start. What make/model is the aftermarket unit. Was it professionally installed? How is it wired.
Thanks for the complement JJ, it means alot. To the OP the ECU probably never gets an STA signal because you probably never push the key over to START while cranking. Considering how most people bypass the alarm/starter, you probably turn the key to run, and the push your button to turn the...
What IJ is saying is that the issue isn't valves touching each other it's the cylinder wall so to speak, that is the issue. You go much bigger and you start moving the edge of the valve outside of the bore, which means the valve can't open. As a thought exercise you could take the bore out to...
Dont forget that that the 2JZ has a bore of 86mm vs the 7M's of 83mm. That allows the larger sized valves to to be used. Might be able to use a single oversized valve on ex. and in. But I believe considerable massaging of the combustion chamber would be needed.
The whole ployquad idea is to...
That's a good start, a lot of people begin with a Chilton's or Haynes and create true chaos before they find the TSRM. Most of the codes get stored in memory and don't leave the CEL light on once the malfunction clears(such as 43), but you can still pull them to see whats going on.
Don't...
Since you're fairly new to Supras here is something your going to refrence a lot with an older car.
Toyota Supra Repair Manual
And one of the first things you're going to learn about when diagnosing engine problems on the supra is to pull the codes. It's a complex motor and the codes will...
I think this should be added here so people can see the troubleshooting that went on. Having this information available will help improve the forums for anyone who may come along with a similar problem.
Pin 1 goes over to the 7.5 amp GAUGE fuse, through pin 11 on connector '1I' . Pull the...
In your left side kick panel look for your power relay, its located here.
Use your multi-meter and measure voltage and continuity at these pins with the ignition sw on.
Pin 1 - 12v
Pin 2 - 12v
Pin 3 - Continuity to ground. (or <1ohm)
Pin 4 - No Continuity to ground (or >1ohm)
Remember these...
Those systems find their ground a the JB #1 set bolt like JJ said. So do several other system, and if those systems are working then the ground is fine. Systems like the starter relay, if the starter engages then the ground if fine. The door lock switches as well as the LH door lock solenoid...
It means that the 30 AMP CB has not tripped and is not the problem. I would hazard guess that even though the seat slides back and fourth, up and down, fine, the side bolsters and lumbar support are not functioning. Go back and re-verify that the 7.5 amp GAGE fuse located in the left foot kick...
