got another part in the mail today. won it on ebay for super cheap so had to buy it. ill prolly rebuild it before i use it just to be safe.
test fitted the slave on the t56 today. it fits. the hole for the release arm pivot is a lil off for the hole in the slave to fit over a pivot...
well, saw a flywheel i thought ight work, its for a quad 4. so i took a stock flywheel to napa and grabbed a quad 4 flexplate. 5 holes line up perfect. so all i need to do when this flywheel arrives is have 1 hole plugwelded and redrilled to the offset position and then the center hole bored out...
i think 3.55 gears would be awesome. i got a 3.73 in my mk2 right now. could stand a 3.42 wit hthe way it pulls now. but before i change the gears ill build up an aluminum 8.8 ford irs diff from a sc cougar or tbird and fab it in.
didnt the early-mid 200 model mustang cobras have irs rears? i could of sworn my friends 03 svt cobra has irs. he is putting over 600rwhp down and nearly 700 tq to the wheels. never mentioned any probs and he drives the hell out of it.
i got a tilton om 2 tripple playe used on ebay for ~$130 shipped. and plan to buy new cermatalic discs for it. its in good shape and rated to hold 1050lbs of tq.
actually you dont have to know how to tune with ms2. the megalog viewer does a very good job for you as long as you have the afr table filled out the way you want it. only thing is maybe timing. but there are enough base maps for that that will have him up and running no probs and no pinging. i...
excessive? no. you drive a car with piggy backs vs a full standalone even with same turbo, injectors, boost level etc.. and the difference is night and day. its the difference of being able to properly tune or not. piggy backs are a hack job.
the cuts need to line up to each other flush. completly flush. trying to fill in a gap on thin aluminum i/c piping would be a huge nightmare and youd be charged alot for it if they could even do it.
screw piggy backs. get a ms2 and then buy whatever size injectors you want. for what youll spend on the safc2, lex afm, and countless time trying to tune it to get the most out of it. you could spend a lil more and grab a ms2 setup and be done with it.
they should work with 2 7mgte ignitors or with a 2jz ignitor. im using them with 2 ford edis 6 modules currently. no issues.
on a side note. i found out those other 3 coils i grabbed will be able to use the is300 wires. so we will prolyl try them out on my friends 7mgte with stock engine...
does the camry ignitor require a 5v trigger? i tried it with a neg trigger and it didnt work so im assuming it needs the 5v trigger. i got the coils working regardless as i just wired up a 2nd edis module as i mentioned before. it pulls to redline just fine and the coils run cool so doesnt seem...
the boot is rubber and it comes off. the conductor snaps inside the coil. i put that on the coil, then the rubber boot. in going to try and find some springs so i can use the part that snaps on the coil better and fit springs inside of it. this way they just push against it tight and it doesnt...
got the camry individual coils installed. i just went ahead and wired up the 2nd edis6 module tonight. works good. no more spark blowout at upper rpm's. i want to run a datalog to see if the ignition has smoothed out. it feels like it has. i dont have any more random pops either during cruise...

ok, well i didnt get to put them in today. got paid to pull a trans on a truck for a friend and change the throwout bearing and rear seal etc... making money was more important. lol.
how does the ecu control dwell to the coils with this ignitor? it has 6 inputs which are neg triger. then 6 outputs which are also neg trigger. i thought the purpose of the ignitor was to charge the coils? if the ecu is controlling dwell why doesnt it just fire the coils directly?
