The top of a exhaust stud is formed like a 6pt hex. A 1/4 socket wrench & 6mm socket fits perfectly on it and takes them out easily (unless u got the flat top studs, then your screwed*). *no pun intended lol

I'd had a weird whine when downshifting but it never affected performance. Its not too risky to run the car without hub rings unless u torque the wheel in the air (lugcentric) but its much better to stay hubcentric
