I had a '71 Stepside, with a '69/'70 grille on it which looks much nicer. I still have a brand new "egg crate" (72/73) grille in the garage:
I miss that truck on a daily basis. Never should have sold it.
For what it's worth, I used to be a die-hard solder-everything type person. For the past several years, I've switched over to crimping 100% of all my automotive wiring.
This is correct.
I would venture to say that 95% of the code 52's I've seen are failed wiring. In fact, most of the sensors have been in decent functioning shape that I've come across.
Untrue. The factory wire is crimped to the actual terminal, and the pin is ALSO crimped to the insulation...
Love the retrofit. I put FX35 bi-xenons, using TSX clear lenses, thus making my retro a TFX in my M3. I used ZKW european glass lens housings. I now have HID low (obviously) HID high, and halogen highs with Osram Nightbreakers. I don't get flashed, and even if I did I don't think I'd flash them...

2) Use NEW connectors for the knock sensors
3) Ground ONE end of the shielding wire, I choose to ground the ECU side so it can't corrode. (grounding one side only to prevent ground...
This goes for pretty much any motor. :nono: Most of the guys running 7Ms inherit problems from the previous owner's lack of maintenance, or their own laziness leads to the motor's demise. This is true with the 1j/2j as well.
The STI and MKIII Supra are two completely different vehicles. What are your goals for the car? What type of driving do you do? Bad winters? Are you looking for something that can be made stupid fast without eating transmissions? (lol) Or something just moderately fast to keep you on your toes...
