    86 7mgte 4x4 build

I thought about a 1uz, or LSx, but I think the sudden shock of flooring it (vs the slower shock of spooling turbo) would be the end of the w56. Though, there are guys out there running that exact setup with great success. I'm just so familiar with the 7M that it's a no brainer for me. Once I get...

    86 7mgte 4x4 build

Right on. Considering it is a truck, I'd like to have a bit more low end grunt. 200 N/A horsepower would have been a significant increase over stock, throw a turbo in the mix along with MaftPro + tuning and it should make a sweet wintertime daily driver. Maybe now I'll actually drive it in the...

    86 7mgte 4x4 build

Sure am! If the weather is nice this weekend like predicted, I'll be picking up a great example of an N/A block with the rotating assembly, head, and oil pump. I might modify the Supra pan to fit with the IFS differential and keep the stock dipstick location if that'll work. Plan is to get the...

Perhaps I'll make some sort of shim, then, or cut/reweld the MKII mounts at a slightly different angle. Thanks!

    Milled head mess up timing?

I'd doublecheck timing. Most of the "it doesn't start after rebuild" threads are due to a mistimed engine. Check that the CPS connector is fully engaged, and that there's no broken wires or shorts in that area. The CPS is constantly heat cycled, along with all the wires in that area because it's...

Sick. I've admired that out-of-the-river pic of yours for quite some time! I'll definitely let you know how the GTE runs. I will start my own thread though, so as to not clutter this one. :)

    86 7mgte 4x4 build

Yeah, that's what I was thinking about doing for the dipstick. Do the MKII mounts make the motor lean too far back or something? I can probably cut mine, bend, and re-weld/plate for strength. I suppose a test-fit will enlighten me, but it's nice to know what to expect beforehand. Yeah, the...

    86 7mgte 4x4 build

Ah poop! I'm planning to raid a junkyard and make myself a jumper harness so I don't have to cut anything. I've got an entire dash harness out of my old Supra, so I just need the connectors from a Pickup like mine. It'll kindof be like a fields harness. :) Did you guys ever get the motor in? If...

It's been forever, any updates on this? I'm hopefully picking up a 7M for mine on Sunday!

Bosch 110 - Euro tuning shop insists the need for 2

Not sure if you purchased one already or not, but try www.rmeuropean.com or www.pelicanparts.com I use both of them when shopping for parts for my M3. RMEuropean ships faster and usually has slightly lower prices. Anything RM doesn't have, Pelican usually will.

    on way to work

If that's a race car, then the wing is useful I'm sure. Useless at highway speeds though, if it's just there to look cool.

You couldn't pay me a million dollors to do this once! EVER!

I took a few w/ my cell phone. I'll upload them. My girlfriend's friend took some with her camera, I'll post them when I get my grubby paws on 'em.

    gauges mounted in glove box

Would be pretty easy to make if you can lay fiberglass or CF. That being said, gauges that far away make you take your eyes off the road for too long, and every time you hit a bump the glove box is going to bounce. It would just annoy the crap out of me. If you want a clean install, relocate the...

You couldn't pay me a million dollors to do this once! EVER!

I went up in a biplane on Saturday. It was damn cool! The coolest part, in my opinion, was the fact that we were landing in a mowed field which is in the middle of a forest. On our descent, the tree tops were wicked close to the plane, which made it even cooler! (two of the others present were...

    7m Na-t vs 7mgte ?

Not everyone wants a standalone though. For a modest 400hp the stock ECU will do fine. And most of these guys aren't rebuilding their motors which means no machine work for the most part (save for lapping the head) If they were rebuilding and wanted a higher CR they should just grab a GTE block...

    where to work

Agreed, I'd rent a storage unit. I rent one, but only use it for storage even though I can easily get power in it. I just put my M3 away for the winter. With a little ingenuity you could have a pretty sweet setup if you find a decent sized one for the right amount of money.
