i tried a tie rod puller, ball joint remover and a 2 arm and 3 arm puller. couldn't find anything to get a grip. the die grinder worked like a charm, i was just afraid the wheel was gonna let loose and send some my way, but it held. apparently dewalt knows how to make them. it didn't really look...
haha easiest fix on the mk3 :D take a punch and tap the rivets that hold the metal strips together. hammer them down so they make good connections once again. i guarantee almost everyone has had to do this (i know i have)
i doubt he's done with it yet. if he had the money to get it molded on and painted i'm damn sure there are wheels going on it soon.
kinda reminds me of BRS's time attack machine:
That's why they're coming off in the first place :D I've got Energy Suspension control arm bushings (front/rear), Tein Flex coils, ST sway bars and BIC endlinks. This thing's taking forever, and bushings are the hardest project I've undertaken yet :)
i've got a plasma cutter (and love my mig :)), i can also borrow an oxy/acetylene setup from a coworker. however, i can't see where i'll have clearance to cut this without touching the subframe or the lateral link itself unless i cut the head of the bolt off (still worried about weakening the...
hey all,
just spent six hours cutting through the seized camber bolt on the right rear lateral link. it had rusted to the bushing i guess and would not move, even after soaking in pb blaster all night (had a pump constantly cycling a gallon up to it and trickling back down). i think the total...
Almost have my new suspension setup installed (ST sway bars, Energy control arm bushings and Tein Flex coils) and was wondering this:
as the springs settle (I assume they would), will it affect my wheel alignment at all? I was going to get it realigned and am wondering if I'll have to take it...
i swear i've seen a blue and white track supra with a single wiper in someone's sig. also thought i saw one diving into a left hand corner with the wiper vertical.
fwiw after my rebuild with a new thermostat (jiggle valve removed) it rests halfway between 3 and 4 on the clock. I have noticed mine takes a while longer to heat up in the mornings in fall/winter now.
:) cut them off about 5 mins after my last post, sawzall.
called toyota and they wanted 75 for the fronts and 68 for the rears, so a new set of BICs are on the way.
I'm taking my control arms off and installing poly bushings and at the same time swapping sway bars. The passenger side came off fine but the drivers side link (where the 14mm nut goes over the allen head stud) is giving problems. The allen head is stripped beyond use. I've tried heat and pb...
