the ring filer is a nice tool, and yes you do both ends together. again, be dainty with it and light with the pressure. they are file-to-fit, not grind-to-appearance ;) now with the ring filer tool, since the grinding motion goes downward, that can leave burrs on the bottom of the ring...

also... i dont think many people at the stage of requiring bigger brakes are still rocking 16's on purpose... except me. im rocking 16's in the back because 16" tires just fall in my lap for free... and i can get them mounted and balanced for free... the sad reason why i dont have the volks on...

actually, the trick is to mount the file in a vice, pointing towards you. then you hold the piston ring in both hands and close it on the file. push onto the file so that the burrs are on the inside diameter of the piston ring and you dont end up pulling small chungs of ring facing materiall off...
