I had the same problem with random stalls and loping idle at times. I never checked my codes however.. Easily enough, I bought some carb cleaner and went to town inside the throttle body with a denture brush. This fixed my problem completely. (there was a lot of gunk in there)
Haha. Thanks, for both of those comments :p
But yeah I was under the impression that it needed to be very heat resistant, seeing as it is going right past the head, the turbo, and an I/C pipe. Good to know though, thanks I6
So basically I've been looking for hosing to fit over the recirc nipple and connect to the stock recirc nipple on the air intake for the last couple of days. I have found nothing that is the right size, or if it is it wont be able to handle either pressure or heat. So i know this sounds like a...
Ok, and yeah when the turbo timer shuts off the engine, there are 3 distinct tik-toks.
Tomorrow I will have the recirc complete, ill get back to you then.
I'm starting to hate that swoosh noise anyways! I'll Recirculate it within the next couple days and hopefully that will be a done deal.
Also, when the engine turns off there is a few almost like tik-tok noises. But no singular click. So I am unsure if that is what you meant or not..
Thanks...
I've been looking at plenty of threads that discuss Idle, and what can cause a rough or loping idle. Unfortunately, non seem to quite match what is happening to me.
My problems started when the I/C piping from the intake manifold going to the I/C, aka the "3000" piping, would blow off of it's...
So its not able to be adjusted? Can you explain that to me? If the cable is stretched, couldnt I just cut off a little of the end and then re-attach it?
So I ended up having to reach through the panel in my trunk. I was able to push the mechanism and open the hatch. It turns out the cable will move the thing , but not enough to make the hatch unhook and pop open. So how do you tighten the cable? from the front by the lever? or somehow from the back?
So I was about to go out, and when i went to fill up the tank, the gas door wouldnt open... So i've been doing some research, but correct me if i'm wrong. People generally say that it has a latch, not a magnetic mechanism. Also I hear that if you pop off the panel on the passenger side in...
I am having a similar problem. Boost gauge reads full boost, but there is a massive amount of hesitation, to the point where the the RPM's don't even climb when I hit boost. I'm stumped. Because it's reading near 10lbs of boost. And i'm sure not about to take it into a shop to see what they...
So I decided to get it rebuilt instead. I also bought a rebuilt turbo and a new clutch. Which i installed both myself. thanks for your help. Looking forward to driving my supra after im done breaking it in!
thanks alot for your input. Sounds like rebuild is a much better idea. However, im fairly pressed for money, as im only 16. would it also be cheaper in the long run to rebuild the 7m?
also, any thoughts on the 2jz?
Hey everyone. So basically i bought my supra with 144k miles on it. It ran great for around a month... I started to notice grey smoke and oil pooling in my exhaust pipe. I also found oil in my intercooler. So my first thought was either dead turbo, or yummy HG. It turns our the the gaskets and...
