Ahh well i just changed my plans. I was going to try and get the motor in this weekend. Then i found out HPF was going to work with me to clear up the mess. I ordered a spec stage 3 clutch, a Tanabe super medallion exhaust, and a test pipe. Horsepowerfreaks is awesome and i highly recommend them, they are one of the few nicely sized companies that actually cares about their customers.
Hey bud sorry for the delay, just been busy paintin shit and talking to HPF..
Ya they fucked up real good...
Here's a few pics of how it looked when i recieved it and then with a few things taken off while on the stand. I havent recieved too much more info on monetary or parts reembursment, which blows because it still sits without a turbo.. I have the missing gaskets on order now courtesy of Ben at HPF.. He's the only guy there who actually seems to want to make progress on my order..
I would have to agree with you entirely about HPF.. They really have been trying to get this resolved, and so far have been good about contacting me and getting what i need outside of this particular order.. I also will keep ordering from them and thank everyone that i have talked to.
lol@ a bed... were gonna have to make the place look nice before we put ur supra to bed... im gonna get some floor epoxy w/anti slip aggregate down if we can and maybe coat the walls with something
Clutch and test pipe came while i was at work today... they look realy nice... im just gonna have to get my hands on some gasket material or gaskets. The exhaust came to my work while i was at school so i didnt get to see it yet but imma rip into the box first thing tomorrow morning and try to get some pics. I also have to pick up my flywheel tomorrow morning, i had it resurfaced. This weekends plan is to get the 90 in my new garage to strip it and maybe, just maybe, attempt to start getting the motor in the 88... probably wont have time for that though
ahh weekend wasnt as successful as i had hoped, but its progress.
Since i had the concert saturday night (Roger waters/pink floyd was amazing.), I only got as far as getting the 90 to the garage with a nice push start... then another when the car stalled at a light halfway there...
Today I started on the car... i got the diff out and the wiring harness/ecu, but without line wrenches to remove the clutch line, i was stopped there from removing the transmission. I'll have to pick up a set of line wrenches this week. Ill try and get the trans out next saturday morning and get started on the 88...STILL waiting on my order from suprasport (my egr blockoff plates and my silicone hose kit. I THINK all i'll need now are fluids.
6 quarts Royal purple oil
1 gallon coolant
Big bottle brake fluid
red line gear oil
ATF for power steering
Ahh im working so hard... hope it all comes together soon.
Hey bud,
good luck with the install and the motor and all.. My project will probably take forever now that i changed my plan, but it'll be worth it in the end.. Ill let you know if i need anything from ya for sure..
later
chris
