So yesterday I got gas @ 3.17 a gallon (not bad) but cost me 50$. So I did a little math seeing how much it would save me to own a civic for a dd. I drive roughly 750 miles (guesstimated, but always need 2.5 tanks) in a 2 week interval.. so driving the supra get ~ 20 miles a gallon and 3.20 a gallon is costing me $120. This seriously cuts in to my 200 biweekly budgeted money, often causing me to spend more then the 200. Now if I had a civic getting 28 mpg and 3$ a gallon for regular it would only cost me 80$ a savings of 40$ per 2 weeks or 80$ a month.. now thats seriously tempting.. Also, I had a 90 civic 4 door like 2 years ago (it got 35 mpg)... The car was much funner to drive then a stock supra.. Like a gocart vs a tank... The supra is nicer, but not 80$ a month nicer.

cliffs:

Did a little math and saw If i had a civic I'd save 80$ a month..

I have no idea why anyone would want to DD a Supra in the first place. :p

If you went with a single setup, your gas mileage would surely increase.

Civic > Supra, when it comes to DDs.

LOL - 1988 Accord, 38mpg with the a/c on.

Cost me $50 to buy it, $100 to fix it, $160 for new tires.

Insurance cost me $120 for the entire year.

The car has paid for itself over a couple of times

im so jealous of civics, my friend paid the same amount 120$ a year i think i might get a cheap one... but right now i have a 2002 mitsubishi mirage that gets about the same

if i did get a civic i would completely strip it out not because it lightens weight but so someone doesnt steal it :biglaugh: 2 have been stolen near where i live the past week with nothing done to them and 3 of my friends civics have been stolen in the past year and completely stripped

My Supra is going to be a DD when I get it running properly. I only drive 1 mile to work there and back 5 days a week. Only time I will drive it for more than that is on weekends but even then I won't be driving it that much becaues I barely ever do anything lol.

Costs me 50 bucks to fill up the tank too. It's alot compared to the 20 bucks every two weeks I was spending on my 94 Integra LS.

Yeah, it's great. It's not the only car on my insurance though, guys! ('05 Colorado, full coverage - '05 Saturn Ion Redline, full coverage - '88 Supra Turbo, full coverage - '88 Accord, bare minimum for Florida :D)

It's funny, when I added the Accord, they were like 'Ok, you can pay an extra $13/month, or $120 and be done with it'

Wife and I pay $186/mo for all that.

Lol i got one of those. Where should i begin.
Car 1500 runs perfect supreme gasmilage. Then we factor in two broke axles, balljoints, transmission, shocks, tires, couple alternators, radiator, waterpumps, belts, and overall death trap factor= no more dd, actually no more driving period untill i can find something to replace the scrap metal on the insurance

Supra 1 blown motor and transmission, but makes it everywhere with out the deathtrap factor, but gasmilage isnt as good but it gets me there reliably.Originally bought the supra to replace the accord now im need something to replace the supra

I DD my Supra, and it is only getting 12 to 13 MPG!! It is about to break me..LOL I gotta find something cheaper also. I could pay for something with the gas money I save alone. I drive alittle over 50 miles a day....and I work 7 days a week almost every week..:aigo:
