yeah, so far the only thing I can find that has been messed with inside this car is the sound system, as someone had run a higher end system in the car. I swear I found atleast an 6 gauge power wire running to the back of the car, and RCA jacks. Stupid people, when will they realize that dropping $100's of dollars into sound systems on a stock car is just laughable. The shop we bought the car off of said the previous owner spent around $4K inside the car on sound and redo'ing the interior.

Shame there's no real way for me to check out the turbo to see if it's any good...gonna make selling it kind of a PITA, oh wait, there's always ebay mwahaha.

Oh yeah, another stupid question, wtf is the small spy camera looking this on the passenger side of the dash, up by the defroster vents?

Not a stupid question. It's a thermistor (sensor) for the A/C system.

I just know my wife is going to pull this on me one day, but with an old 944 or 280z.

Well it's been awhile, but work has been done on the Supra (been mainly trying to get my AE86 running so I can drive that while the Cressida is down). Got the entire dash out (down to just the heater core) so I can change over to auto harnesses. We got the 7m out of the Cressida and ready to go into the Supra. On both a positive and negative note I figured out what that hose thing that I was asking about is, the down side is..... It's the fuel line (crap).

Also for the Supra gurus out there, on the intake side of the N/A harness, there are 2 small brown plugs that look like they could be injector plugs (but are slightly different), WTF do these goto?

After I figure out those 2 plugs, and change either the distributor or the plug for it, it's time to put the upper intake back on, put the tranny back on, and drop it into the Supra.

the 1 on the right looks like the 1 i was talking about as for the left???

Both plugs are identical in appearance. wires on the closest are black with red stripe and red with black strip. wires on one towards back of engine is black with red strip and green with black stripe.

Well the funny thing is, I have 1 VSV on the side of the engine, but it uses a bluish/green connector (which the supra harness also has). The Cressida's harness does NOT have those 2 brown plugs, but if it's just emissons stuff, I don't really need them right?

All I have left to do, is distributor (which can be done with the engine in), fuel line (which I'm paying someone else to do), put tranny back on engine, take the upper cat off the exhaust, and drop it in. Then I'll sort out the dash harnesses after the engine is in.

Yes, new engine is N/A. Guess I don't have the VSV's, hell I dunno wtf half the crap on this engine is as far as emissions is concerned. I'll wheel the stand out in the daylight and snap some pictures a little later when I have some free time.

So... I decided to "lose" the EGR setup during my recent head-swap. Still have the charcoal can. What is the "downside" (if ANY) to removing the can and bypassing all the plumbing that is related?

...I hate that can where it's at! So many OTHER things (like SPACE?) that could go there!;)

As previously mentioned, they're for the vsv's, and they're not needed. I went as far as to seperate the wires from my harness and completely remove them.

So is anything else needed other than just not plugging them in? I'm not really looking to do anything with this engine, just get it in and running.

Not really. I didn't see the point in having them, so I just ran my car (which is a turbo car, if that matters) with them unplugged for a while to see, then when we installed my FFIM, we just went ahead and got rid of them.

I'm sure someone on here will tell you that there's a reason why they're there and they should be kept on and so on and so forth, but, in my particular experience they were not needed and I did away with them.

Ok, now all I have to do is clean the garage some, find the intake bolts (I'm worthless like that), bolt the intake down. Do you need to apply RTV or anything between intake peices? Need to goto Toyota and order a new set of gasket, studs and nuts for the exhaust and get it put back on. Get ahold of a pre-89 dizzy (which I think a friend of mine in Ohio has for me) and get it in and hopefully don't lose too much of the timing doing it. and it'll be about ready to drop in.
