so i just now seen the pics of the hole that shit is massive... scrap that motor

Block will be destroyed, I will check the underside of the head for damage, and if it looks good the head and everything (not the block) will be for sale. I am hanging onto the coil-packs, injectors, CPS, ignitor and other small things for my 2jzge.

Honestly, not to be a pessimist... but I'd be WAY concerned with the head off a 7M T that threw a rod...:nono:

Having a wife that falls in love with a beat up, blown-motor, 20+ year old import....PRICELESS...

Sounds like a nice situation- You get the turbo motor stuff, you get to use your NA from the Cress in her car, you get the 5spd, and she gets an auto...sounds like a lot of work, but everybody gets what they want, and you save a supra from being parted out in the process. Good luck with all of the work!

Well I only get SOME of the turbo stuff, the actual turbo and manifold will be for sale here soon as soon as we get them cleaned up. I only get some electronics to make my swap a little easier to manage. She's been wanting a MKIII for the last 7 or so years. I may actually be sourcing her another engine other than the one from my Cress, since it's gonna take me a little while to get the 2jzge build to my taste and get it running right, and she's edgy to get her car running for this summer.

About the dipstick tube, I PMed you.

Well got the head off, took the pan off, the piston wasn't even the entire top, and had a rather good sized hole in it. Found atleast 6 parts of the rod floating around in the pan, and some more hiding between the baffle and pan. Oil pan is trashed with a 1/2" hole in it. I will try to get some pictures up here soon, after I get the garage cleaned up. On a postive note, head looks great, no noticable damage done to it at all, but I will send it to a machinist for inspection.

Also I guess I cannot use the CPS or coil-packs on my GE harness, so other than completely converting to GTE harness with ECU, I don't get to use them :-(. So they will be for sale soon.

Since everyone loves pictures, here are some of the damage from the rod, including what's left of the rod and piston on cylinder #6.

The little bowl is some of the remains of the rod and piston that were left in the engine, there was still alot more, but I was lazy and pistons aren't magnetic, so I didn't feel like fishing them out. Piston gave out between the 2nd and 3rd rings, and completely exploded. From what I've seen of the bottom of the head, does not look like the piston touched it at all. I set the block out on the curb, and within 36 hours it was gone (gotta love scrappers), tried to get the crank pulley off, but even with impact and a old tire iron in the crank bolt wouldn't come off, so it went with it.

We have started sourcing parts for the swap over of my old 7mge from the Cressida, as my GTS is at the shop being fixed and will be driveable soon, and the 2jzge is at the machinist, so HOPEFULLY I can get the supra running in the next couple weeks and iron out all the little bugs and test out the suspension. Buying a new targa bolt didn't help anything as the former owner was using a larger bolt and stripped out the top, so I placed a washer on the bolt to give it something to grab on, and now seals. Need to go pick up an interior clip tool and start removing the passenger side door panel and see why the window won't top out.

The destruction seems fairly complete on the motor.

and the passenger window doesn't roll all the way up (stops about 1/2" from the top)

My car had that problem. Broken final tooth on the window motor regulator was the cause.

thats, I'll be sure to check that, hopefully it's just something simple and that I can fix for cheap. Looks like I'll have around $1k into this car by the time it's running ($631 for the purchase and tow, $125 for ecu, harness and injectors + pan, pickup, afm, tranny ecu for the auto, etc etc).

The block has left the building, don't even know where it is now, left it by the curb and someone came by and grabbed it. As scrap metal it's probably worth some money, but eh.

Well I think I figured out whats with the window, after ripping the door panel off (properly!), I saw a bunch of shattered safety glass in the bottom of the door, so I'm gonna guess it's been replaced. Also noticed the the front white "hook" that bolt to the glass itself, is not lining up when the window gets close to the top, all I have to do is grab the class and pull it inwards a little and it catches and goes all the way up. So we called a glass company today, and they're gonna come look at it, hopefully it'll be a cheap fix, else we'll rock it ghetto style for a little while.

I also get to remove the DRIVER'S door panel, to check for broken glass on that side, and to replace the master window switch, since it has NO control over the passenger window. Previous owner was nice enough to include another switch, so now time to see if it's the switch or another electrical gremlin.

^ you need to get a better pic....

It looks like either:
1. a soft line thats been ripped off
2. that stupid anti-jerk thing they put on auto cars
3. the clutch slave w/ the pin pulled out

Thats all I got...

Well it's not the clutch slave, and the car is originally a 5spd turbo. I will try to get a closer pic.

Well during the cold rain and snow this weekend, couldn't really bring the car outside to get any decent pictures. However I did find out that on a turbo/5spd car there is NO plug for the ECT (tranny ecu) or the shifter buttons, so I am in the process of ripping the entire dash harnesses out. Would probably be better if I knew WHICH of the 2 dash harnesses has control of the ECT, since I'm pretty sure the smaller one (attached to the dash pad) has the shifter button on it. After it warms up some, I'm gonna go check a possible donor car in the junkyard and see if the dash wiring is all still there, if not then it looks like I'm donating MORE money to the fine people on supramania.

Well today is picture day for the business, and I figured I would drag some parts up into daylight (can't say sunlight, cuz it's a misty nasty day). For crisp that wanted to see the wheel of the turbo:

Good memory!

Yup... I'd say STOCK on the turbo. (It had "machining" like appearance from the earlier view... but that taper and entry dia. is very much consistent with the stock CT.;)
