What is everybody doing next weekend friday the 23 or saturday the 24th?
Does anybody feel like driving north for a cookout and cruise to lakeside park Fond du lac, then to the tower at Pipe?
My brakes are in pretty poor shape and dont think drag racing or autocross would be very good for them at the moment.
any recomendations on whats good to get?

Well the track day at Road America went very good today. Fastest lap was a 2:53 of the few that I had timed ( I will have to check the in car cameras to see if there were any faster ones). The car hits 130 down the front straight and 125 into 5 and Canada corner. I am going to have to go to Carbotech race pads next time as the R4s pads were not up to repeated stops from these speeds. I also will be looking to go to an aluminum race radiator in the near future since there were a few spikes in the temperature (heater cured it) but it was not even a warm day so I will need more cooling capacity. To top the day off on the way home the clutch has started slipping in 4th and 5th right around the torque peak at 3200 rpm, time to find a good upgrade for a ~350 hp car with good driveability. The car got about 10 mpg on the track and I put 120 miles on it on Road America, so about 30 laps. The best part is it got 25 mpg's on the way home :)

I will get videos and pictures posted up in the near future and will provide links.

^^^ Awesome man!
If you would be interested in a aftermarket driveshaft, my company sells one piece al and steel, as well as a steel two piece.
Im running the one piece al on my car, made a considerable difference! Exceptional quality and performance.

Thanks, yeah I may be interested one my center bearing fails, but since my car has seen speeds upwards of 150 mph (in mexico with aliens driving it of course) I would need to check out what the max shaft speed is for a one piece as if you spin those too fast it is an epic failure when it fails on the car. Out of car video uploading to youtube as we speak :)

As far as speeds and the 1-piece shafts go, I have taken my car 135mph+ (according to speedo) and there were no vibrations at all.
Great product!

^^^ Heres their link, I think they might have discontinued their two piece DS. But they still do custom work..

BTW Cool vids Dave,

Thanks for the comments on the video, in car should be up tomorrow night if all goes well. I have about 20-30 minutes worth of video.

As far as the shaft goes, I am worried about the critical speed of the shaft, there may not be any vibrational signs until you reach this speed at which point the shaft and car can self destruct due to the resonance.

Link regarding it - http://www.wallaceracing.com/driveshaftspeed.htm

Before I purchase any driveshaft I will be making very sure that I do not have a possibility of spinning it too fast. Also I am sort of getting close to calling the mk3 done(for the time being) and starting the mk4 fund. Hope to have a sub 50k mile 6 speed by next summer, ideally purchasing it about a year from now, maybe sooner if the right one comes along.
