do you want to work in the fields?

This kind of logic, sympathy and justification is why we are in the state where we now live.
"Because only illegals will take a job like that, it's okay."
The more leeway that is given, the easier it becomes for a non-citizen to have rights and become a freeloader. If we keep this mentality and keep going at the current rate, non-citizens will be allowed to vote in no time.

Seriously, I'm under no circumstance racist, but I believe that if one wants to move to the US and live/work/sleep/fuck here, you should do so legally. You get your citizenship, pay your taxes and dues, and fucking learn English. This ain't a bi-language country, so stop trying to make it one.

Not at all the sort of post I would expect from someone with the name "Clueless." After being damned near unable to find work speaking my own language in my own country in this God-forsaken oven, I completely agree with you. However, two years ago, I would not have, and would have called you a racist. Learning by living at its finest.

im parts of canada its bi-lingual, a lot of europeans speak more then 1 language. This country is based on diversity so dun give me that shit. I agree that people should learn english to be a citizen but sometimes its hard to learn another language when your older.

If that was one of the the prices of US citizenship - to learn and comprehend even basic English - don't you think it would be worth it? "It's hard" is no excuse; it is just another example of the complacent making excuses for and sheltering the weak, and it allows them to become weaker while dragging the country down.
If unity and pride are so important, why do people of other backgrounds pay tribute to a life that they or their family chose to leave behind? If the USA is so much better than - for example - Mexico, that you chose to become a US citizen OVER being a citizen of Mexico, then why would you be so proud of your roots? If citizenship and unity are so important, why not join the winning team and start to speak the language and claim to be an American rather than a x-American [x = whatever background or race you are]. That sounds more like unity and pride to me.

this is an ongoing argument, i will not convince any of you nor you will me. All i can say is that i agree that being here illegally is wrong and you should know the english language to be here but for some it is their last resort. If some of you were given a day to live in a third world country you would understand why folks like these sacrifice themselves to have that american dream. Be open minded, know where you come from, Irish, russian, mexican, etc.
Remember this next time you drink on 5 de mayo. ;)

im done.
