As for the ATM's and such, some people need to get outside of the US, to a foreign country on the other side of the world. And pay attention to how much of the world caters to the US and has learned to speak english.

Wow, I didnt know all those people were just being nice and catering to use by learning english. I just figured they were making their own life easier by learning english.

Next time I travel some where Ill remember they speak english just to be nice to me.

If I left the country you'd be damn sure I'd be learning the native language.

Thats what alot of tourists do. When travelling to places like Europe, they learn the basic phrases to get by and have a pocket phrase book.

Seems like illegals are the ones who dont give a shit about this country, the culture, the language. One example is when they earn the money here and send most of it back home.

Cheers,
Roy

25 dollars an hour is hardly an ambitious goal for someone with the opportunity to go to US schools and the chance to go to college.

That all depends on where you live and the cost of living for that area, really. I could probably make a ton more money if I did my same job in LA or NYC, but I'm not willing to live there. Ambitious? Not really, but it's more than enough to live on comfortably in this town.

UPS drivers cap out at 28$ an hour company wide, from what Ive seen they live good on that money lol.

For some though money isnt the driving factor in life, the more you make the bills you have anyways. It all comes down to being happy doing what you do for a living.

+100! I know for a fact being that im a LEGAL permanent resident and but not a citizen YET. Its taken thousands of dollars and roughly six years and im still not a citizen so it pisses me off when people try and take the easy way out and then act like its the right thing to do.

Mother Russia! No...lol.

The language part doesn't bother me so much. If people are UNWILLING to speak English then ok, not cool, but stuff like language choices on ATM's is fine. Whether or not they're willing to speak English on a communication basis, they may have been speaking Spanish or whatever other language it may be for the majority of their lives and may want to continue doing so because theyre comfortable and or better communicators. That's fine in most cases but I agree, basic English communication skills should be there when need be. You have to consider that a language option on a phone call or ATM could be for something important i.e. getting money, paying a bill or whatever. If I wasn't great with English id damn sure want language options so I didn't fuck up the 'important matter.' All this language talk is not directly relevant to illegal immigration though. Anyone is capable of not being willing to speak English whether theyre illegal or not.
