Well, it looks like I just need to get my post count up, and start the GB thread and the wheels will be in motion. I would also be willing to do other CF GB's in the future if this one is a success (CF Hatch boys (and girls) keep your eyes open!!!).

UPDATE:

These tops are very strong and also very light i know the stock top on the MK4 is fiberglass and the carbon was just as light if not a little lighter the stock.

if it isnt a significant weight savings, then i dont see the purpose

our targas are steel... the MKIV targas are aluminum...

It doesn't have to take much weight away to see an improvment (lower center of gravity), but i see them removing quite a bit of weight if made out of composites...

Side Trim pieces on the car :)

Hard to find and quite expensive and are usually a bit crappy from age.

I'd buy a set.

expensive, and if they're pre-89 they yellow and look like crap with any aging...

CF doorsills, dash piece that goes around the stereo...

a CF FFIM would be pretty neat as well, as I see CF intakes out for quite a few cars...

Door sills and trim moulding for sure... Hatch, meh... How much weight would you save? The majority of the weight is in the glass... How about a cf 3 piece wing?
