just curious,
how many of y'all drive your supra during this week in the snow and WHO, don't lie people be honest, drive a honda, at least in the last few and next few coming days?

On the extremely rare moment we have snow here, I drive my MKIII.

The MKIV does not come out in the snow.

And Theresa's MR-S would probably be just a way to commit suicide...

I would think that the MR-S would be good in the snow?

The problem with mid and rear engine cars is that once the tail starts coming around, the weight of the motor in the back gives the ass end a phenomenal amount of momentum.

The final upshot of this is that once you get sideways, you're pretty well screwed. That and there's no damned weight on the front wheels.

And since Theresa has him lowered to the point where I can't fit my foot under the car, anything more than 2 inches would just cause the front bumper to be a snow plow. The car is setup for Road Atlanta, not really the street. On dry pavement, it's like driving a kart.

Not a good winter car.

LOL, well, that explains things. A small snow plow with no steering capabilities when it spins = death trap. Point taken. lol

I drive this in the winter. We now have literally 3 times as much snow now. About 180 cm so far this year.

I left the car in the parking lot for a few hours while I went to the pub with my girlfriend. Came back and it had been keyed. Looks like I am calling the insurance company and making a police report. Just glad it isn't the Supra.

I've been driving my 1j supra in the snow. My 740 Volvo winter beater is not running, so I got to run the supra. It doesn't do that bad in the snow. But two people have hit my car in the last week (not due to snow or ice). Some girl rear ended me and someone did a hit and run on the front of my car when I was pricing parts to fix the back of my car:mad:, how gay is that.::hang::

For many years, have driven my 98 A8 in the snow.

Just bought a replacement, so the MK3 and the 98 A8 are up for sale.

Replacement?

It's a absolutely like brand new, 13,840 miles on the odom, 2004 Audi A8L. (Yes, I did not really think I wanted the L as they are 5" longer, and it's all added for the rear seat passengers, but dang, under 14k miles? And the service history on this car was amazing. It's had the 15k service done, and it was all done by the same dealer that sold it originally. The original owners must be loaded, so price was no object clearly.)

Got it for a good price in Portland of all places. (Had to take my 14 year old daughter there for a Dr. visit on her ankle distraction, and while there, decided to check out a few used cars.. Came across this one, and ended up buying it, cancelled my part of the flight back to Boise, put her on the plane, and then grabbed a free night at the HGI off Airport Way, just down the street from Horsepower/Tourqe Freaks.)

Drove it home yesterday, even in snow, and it's a very sweet car.

Basicly, with 4 snow tires, it would go pretty much anywhere in the snow and ice. With just good all season tires, it goes there just fine too, and handles better when the roads are wet or dry. I always have a set of wheels/tires with wider summer tires, and I change out the wheels/tires each season. (Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's are my tire of choice lately for the summer, but I might try a new design for suspensions that places more rubber along the inside edges for cars that tend to have more negative camber desinged into them like the Audi's and most BMW's etc.)

Nice and clean at the dealer as I picked it up.. Then reality of winter driving and mountain passes has left it pretty dirty, but since it's below freezing here, I will not wash it untill the weather warms up during the day to about 35f or higher.

BTW, my 1998 A8 is for sale if anyone is interested in a good winter/DD vehicle. :) :) (Official thread to follow as I get some photos of it too when it's clean..)

I drive my 91 LS400 with snow tires on sawblades (perfect fit too!), had to pull my buddy's 04 grand am out of a driveway twice this year and my traction control is broken, so I think it does pretty good.

PS, I just backed through that after I took the picture.

It actually does good. 185 size general purpose tires that cut right through the snow, 50/50 weight distribution and the brakes and the car in general have the best road feedback ive ever felt...which all helps a ton. Plus i noticed on one emergency occasion if you shove it into reverse and hit the gas it works as well as the brakes on dry road. Wont try that again though lol. Ive been DDing my trans am though and in any kind of snow its not happy...it will power break at a stop at idle if its icy. It spins out very easy. You can barely touch the throttle or the LSD does its job and it just flings to one side or the other. Its not even very safe in rain
