I need to get some new spark plug wires and just like everything else i'm assuming you get what you pay for, but just incase thats not true or there are a few companies that are expensive AND crap, i wanted to know whats good.

Berg-warner?
Bosch?
Autolite?
MSD?

I have a 1986.5 N/A so i dont need killer low resistance or anything special, i just want something as good as stock or better that isnt really expensive and wont turn to crap really fast.

my wires were made in 1994 so i think they're due for a change.

if someone could tell me how to check them that'd be great...i have a feeling one is bad and arching but im not sure. i didnt see any sparks when it was running in complete darkeness, but my car runs a little rough and jerky sometimes like a cylinder isnt giving its all.

thanks!

Been using MSD wires with no problem. They don't like the Autolite 3923 plugs though...the plug is 1/8" shorter than stock and the MSD wires do not make a good contact.

I  my NGK wires. Some people say they damage quickly in the heat, but I've had mine for almost 3 years! Before then I was going through plug wires like toilet paper since the 5Ms cam towers are super high and heat the plug wires up really good.

The good thing about these NGKs is that they clean very easy and repair easy too. We've broken 4 out of 6 wires and they're still going strong :D

Yup I run NGK's on my 7M-GTE, they're good wires. I've never had good experiences with Bosch, ever. The MSD wires are supposed to be not too bad either, but I've never had a single problem with any of the types I've listed in multiple cars and engine types.

Usually I run OEM wires, but NGK are really good too.

If youre not going Toyota(they are good), dont use a cheap aftermarket, use a good name brand like the other guys have mentioned, then you will be fine.
