Lemme square it away for all the rocket scientists, I'm kidding. Yes spark plug wire kits for V8's can come in a universal kit with X amount of wire in the box along with a crimper for PROPER crimps, just like the factory ones toooooooo.. I solder mine, but hey I have experience. As for being able to make two kits from one V8 kit, lets do the math here, lets say a V8 kit comes with 15' of premium wire, lets say it takes 7' of wire to make a set for a Supra, 7 goezinto 15 two times with 1 left over, so there you have it, and you even have a foot of wire left over. So next time, dont let your panties get all in a bunch, just try see that were all Supra folk here and thats kinda like we all play for the same team.

i realised the length thing would be fine...we just didnt understand, nobody got bunched up. I, for one, imagined a set coming with 8 pre-made wires with one end finished - you cut them, crimp up ONE end and you're done.

apparently there are some sets that have enough extra tips (beyond 8 for each end) and this can make 12 wires possible. since nobody clarified the fact they give you extra tips...it was confusing, thats all. Not to mention that it did kinda get figured out already anyway......:icon_conf

wait

wait

you solder yours?

and how prey tell does one goes about soldering Carbon to copper exactly? As all MSD, Taylor, Accel, Magnecore, Moroso are all carbon wound.

I run MangaCore with 3923's with no problems whatsoever. Is there anything wrong with Magnacore? Seems to me that no one else is running them.

nope

they are good wires. hight temp resistance and last a good while.

The last set of expensive wires I bought were for a Dodge 440, Yes I did solder them as they were Mopar Performance metallic core wires and with the right flux, solder, heat, and Skill, you can pretty much solder any two dissimilar metals together, which beats the hell out of just crimping when they get pulled on during removal. The length thing is due to some of the wires in the box set are so freaking long you can make two Supra wires from them, maybe even three for some. The Mopar Performance wires lasted longer than any wires I've ever used due to them being made from almost pure silicone, you know the kind the dust sticks too big time. The only bad thing about them and the reason I wouldn’t use them on my Supra is in the Charger I didn’t have a nice stereo system so the metallic cores weren’t an issue, in my Supra they would be.

ok,

I know about solid core metalic wires but that is for magneto applications or applications where there is ZERO electronics on the car. When you said soldering I was like, hope he did not mean solid core on a supra!

The only reason I wouldnt use Metallic Cores in my Supra is because they will Big time mess with your sound system, other than that they are great for any car when it comes to durability. I did not run a magneto in my Charger, I ran an MSD sealed bearing distributor, MSD 6A, and MP Plug Wires cause the MSD ones toasted fairly quick from my cermaic headers. So I bought the MP's which seemed to be closer to pure silicone, put nomex sleeves on them and they were still like new when I sold the car.
