You would want to add negative camber. I am not sure if that is what you want to do though. The purpose of a fat tire would be useless since the contact patch will be lessened.

I'm thinking of getting some new wheels
front 18x9 -24mm
rear 18x10 -22mm
I'm not sure about the offset being ok but I'm thinking 255 in the front and at least 275 in the rear. any info would be appreciated thanks

those aren't - are they? because you need + those offsets. if they are + the offsets are still probably too low to hold those tires

Yeah offsets are too low. Well the 9 might be okay but the 10 needs to be higher to be able to hold that 275 with out sticking out.

hoping to be able to fit 18x11+32 on the rear, with around 265/35/18 tyres
a bit worried tho about it hitting the strut, can anyone confirm or deny ?

Won't hit strut unless you run you run a lot of camber. the main issue would be the clearance of the fender. If it were me I'd give it a shot with a 245 tire stretched on there so it can clear a rolled fender.

What is ghetto? Some camber? uhh since you just bought new tires i am going to assume you are not going to get skinner tires.. You can also try getting shine auto over fenders.

The overfenders would only be functional if you cut the fenders.

Quick question. My rear wheels (17x10 +28) stick out about 1/2 and inch. What would I need to do in order to tuck them inside the wheel well that's not ghetto.

Adam

You'll just have to roll your fenders and get smaller tires, like 265s.

I dunno what ghetto would be in this department as I am new to the aftermarket wheels setup. Should I add or take away camber? I'm not modding the body (yet).

Adam

In your case, you'd have to do a negative camber, inner contact patch of your tires will wear out faster. I assume your Supra is a daily driver, so it won't be wise to camber.

the outer position would only be 1mm more than this wheel u had on your car

did u need to roll the gaurds to get it to fit ok

on the topic went down to my local tyre dealer, and they told me they wouldnt fit anything smaller than a 305 to my 11,
what a bunch of dickheads,

That was with 225 tires though. at most you can put on a 245 tire.. maybe a 255. 265 would be real sketchy.

what we need is to consolidate everyone's post who stated what wheel and tire specs they have on their car. that way, whoever is curious about X rim with Y offset and Z sizing can scroll down the list and PM whomever is running those specs.. this thread is almost uselessly long for straight answers...

the 350z Track setup may work well on that car, but how well could it possibly work for an MK3 that has a suspension designed around wheels that SHOULD be the same diameter and non-staggered width? im really curious about the big and little concept like the Track model Z.

also, now that i know i can fit 315's on the front of my car and only rubbing near full-lock... its got me thinking...

has anyone got say... anything BIGGER than 275 on all four corners? i was thinking about running 295's on all four corners on 18x10" wheels. the sidewalls would be square, neither pinched (like my 315's on a 9.5" rim) or pulled (like my 255's on a 9" rim). i would expect it to expound on the MK3's original suspension geometry and intent and further capitalize on a car meant to have non-staggered wheel/tire combos...

btw, an 18x11 with a +32mm offset would place the lip of the RIM outside the fender. if you dont have a huge tire on there, like a 305/30 or a 315/25 (which i was barely able to fit on lowered mk3 with a +50 offset)... you MAY be able to sucessfully ride w/o rubbing.

^ decent idea.. you also need to add how much camber is being ran.

Maybe I'll start going through this thread and make a list for the sizes and link to the post.

*edit* I'll be making a list of what we have pictures. went through the first 50 post already. I'll do more tomorrow.

Overall though there are many variables and all the things that are shown to fit is just a guide line. Like for all my rims fitting I am super dumped and have more camber then most of you guys have. So all that is cause for odd fitment.

yes, very true. camber and ride height will certainly play a factor in what people can cleaer and what they cant... i can "clear" some good size meats (315 up front and 295 out back) but i have stock ride height and alignment specs... who knows how much its gonna change when i get coilovers and bring it down 40mm or so... ya know?

i too have been collecting rims, it seems. ive just been "acquiring" them over the years. i just got another pair today... its not like a huge inventory of JDM wheels of desirable fitments... but more wheels than i can shake a stick at.

right now, im up to:

3x sawblades with rubber (and five tires for 16" wheels)
4x 17x7.5 ROH ZR6's with rubber
3x 18x9/18x10 Volk GTU's with rubber
2x 16x7 Crown Vic/Merc Marquis meshies
4x 16x7 Enkei Etoria 7-spoke things with rubber
2x 17x8 Lexus GS400 optional split 5-spoke gimmicks with shot rubber

ive got so much shit i could play musical wheels all year long!

IMHO, Jose has one of the best wheel fitment to date. the new wheels he has are awesome and the pictures posted just don't do it justice.

EDIT: i stole a couple of joe's silv pics.

For anyone wondering what the size and offset of my wheels are, well here it is:

18X10 +19 high pad fronts (still clean TT brakes)
18X11 +24 low pad rears (enough to clear coilover springs and TT rear calipers)

tires are 265 front and 275 rears. If my Soapra fenders can fit 265's, I'm sure regular A70 fenders will fit 265's. If I add the JIC upper A-arms I could do 285's in the front. My next goal is to fit 18X12's all the way around with 295's or 305's all the way around.

oh ok, so a 18x10+17 with lets say 245 rubber may just fit on stock fenders
if i were to get 255, i would have to roll the gaurds a tad,
if it matters iam running tien ha's and on the height setting i have now theres a fair wack of camber in there

gaurd rolling isnt that hard tho is it ?

Has anyone tried fitting OZ Super Turismos from a Mitsubishi Evo 8?

Ive been offered some

17" OZ super tourismo's 114.3 5 stud

but all I know is that the offset is either 28 or 38 :1zhelp:
The guy was looking on his car in a dark garage so he couldnt be sure which!!

Has anyone fitted these? hes tried on on his supra mk3 and it doesnt rub lock to lock so HE says but Im looking to see if anyone is running these wheels?

Also, anyone got a picture of them on a mk3? Im struggling to visualise it!

thanks

to take a stab, id be thinking that they would sit too far inside the gaurds, but i may be wrong, anyone able to confirm this
