Wheel Fitment & Question Thread

Hey everyone. That time has come for me. I have decided against the $4k custom CCWs for now and have opted to go with my original choice, Work Emotion XD-9s in WMB (found a source that can hook me up with said discontinued color). My problem is deciding exactly what sizes/offsets to get, as usual. My suspension setup will be HKS Hipermax 2 coilovers and fender work will be limited to rolling and ever so slightly a little pull (I want to avoid pulling if I can). I will not lower the Supra that much, maybe 1.5 inches at the most. The XD-9s only come in the following sizes:

18x10 +18
18x10 +38
18x9 +20
18x9 +30
18x9 +38
18x9 +43

I would love to do an 18x10 all around setup, but from what I have heard from another member that did this, he said that a spacer is required at the front (basically an offset of mid 25s is needed to clear the knuckles). As such, perhaps a staggered set-up will be more simple to accommodate.

I have researched this topic so much that I think I may have over-researched it and now my mind goes blank when I try to think offsets lol. What I last thought was good was 18x10 +38 rear and 18x9 +30 front. I'm just afraid those offsets will still be sunken. I really want to keep the front and rear the same distance from the edge of the wheel well. Also keep in mind that I do not want to stretch my tires AT ALL. I will be fitting at minimum 275s in the rear and 255s in the front.

What are y'alls thoughts/feedback on this? Thanks for your help and time!!

I would avoid 10" up front myself. 8.5 is probably widest I would go simply because it has an odd feel on the road due to tire grooves which effect steering. the 18x10 +38 would probably be a nice wheel for the rear with the 18x9 +38 for the front.
Of course.. my wheel setup has the rear wheels just far enough out that with the stock suspension if I hit a really big dip at high speed, my quarterpanel lip would touch the wheel. With the HSD's and 1" lower, I have no problem whatsoever. I find my fronts are about perfect although I wouldn't have minded if they were just a tiny bit narrower for the highway. I occasionally hit those grooves that bug me because I have to fight the steering wheel a little.

Mine are:
Frt rims - 18x8 +35, 225/40zr18
Rear rims - 18x9 +35, 255/35r18

I want to go 10's on the back, but the 9's are doing okay for now.

someone else will probably correct me but i think that might be too much offset for that wide a wheel. i think your fenders would need rolling or you might have suspension clearance issues.

I'd do 18/10 +18. And 9/20.

If it were me if do 18/10 +18 all around.

Lower the offset makes it like a skinnier wheel and there's less wheel on the inside and more on the outside.

That said also depends what your going to do with the fenders and how low your going to go and what you want to do with the tires.

How would a 18x9 with 40 offset fit all the way around

I have eibach springs and I'm looking to get a flush with the fenders look

It will fit but not flush with the fenders. IMO you need to be lower anyways for the flush look to look good.

i have 275 drag radials on my tts and they look like they fit well. Im guessing a 285 would be fine but anything after that might be too much.
