what would be better size 17s or 18s with h&r spring i believe its a 1.6 drop in front and 1.3 in rear. and im planning on doing the cobra brake kit. just seeing what size and offset yall would reccommend

I just tried to respond to your PM but your box is full. I will just copy it here.

If you want to rotate tires with a square set up you can try something like 18x9.5 +35 with a 275/35/18 all around. It should clear the front and will give you enough traction in the rear. If I have time today or tomorrow I will look for images of a similar set up that I have seen on a MK3 before. Just did a quick look and there are no real good sizes for the XXR unless you want to stretch tire but there is the size I recommended for the 5zigen.

why would the tires have to be stretched? sorry noob at wheels and offsets on cars.
i guess i wouldnt have to do a 4 wheel rotation and just rotate the the front and rears aslong as the tires arent directional just want good life out of the tires

I was giving you recommendations for sizes that will need only minor work to fit and a good look. If you want an agressive fitment where you are willing to roll or even pull the fenders I need to know that.

dat sick 18x10 +25 all around set up above, does anyone know what tire sizes he is running?

Think in that pic it was 285 front and 275 rear. Think after that it had 295 in the rears. Its a little higher in my car i think. For the fronts cant be super slammed without a pull to run that tire size. The rears are fine with a roll but will rub super slammed.

265/35 rubbed my fenders slammed.

well im looking for a good set up that will still give me enough traction under power and still be also to push it through the corners with out the tires rubbing on the fender since the front is 1.6 lowered but would willing to do fender work if required getting car painted soon so that could be done in the process. i was kinda wondering if 17s or 18swould be better other than just looks. cause it either between the fnorc-1s of the xxr 521s

well... if your going with 18's your sacrificing traction.. remember.. a lot of the "hook" you get is from sidewall flex. An 18" rim has a very small sidewall.. so the tire is much stiffer. You should be on 16's with a good wheel. Remember, 17's and 18's are more for looks than performance. You dont see people going on the track with them. I believe most are on 15's with a nice drag slick.

Of course.. I am going from observing and practical thinking. I run 18's on mine. (can break them loose quite easily)

understand what your saying there def not alot of flex with a thin wall tire. but im gonna have to stick with either 17s or 18s since im going to have a bbk soon and need enough room to clear them. since fnorc-1 is discontinued may have to go with the 521s or if i find another 17 i like.lol

For the road course aren't bigger wheels (thinner sidewalls) generally better?

Also depends on what tires you get. I'm getting R888s for my 18x10 set up all around in the future. that or at least Nitto NT01s in the rear.

thanks!! I think I may go with a slight pull in the rear for 295. we'll see about how far I want to go with the fronts

well i will be on road course a lil bit since i work at one.lol would a 18.5-35mm on front and rear with 255/40/18 be good for rotation purposes and good on track. i know its not as wide as everyone else is going but im still in process of motor build and will be putting down more power later down the line

You dont need to pull in the rear to fit 295s...just get to correct offset.

I guess I should expand slightly on this...

It will depend on your drop in the rear...I have a 1in drop in the rear and fit 295s with no pull or roll on 17x9 +38 with no rubbing

Im about to order new rims in sizes 18x8.5 F and 18x9.5 R should i go with a +35 or +20 offset??? I already have rolled fenders with eibach springs and koni yellows. I know the 35 is "safe" but im not sure how flush it will be.... is the +20 too much??
