^^^werd...I think a stock turbo could only do 147 according to Motor trend back in the day

NA Mag cars back in the day would do 131 so add 15>20 years of use and abuse there's no way known an NA is doing any more than that....

200hp at the crank in a 1500+ Kg car it's just not happening.

Speedo was out then......

An NA wouldn't do 143 if you chucked it off a very high cliff, your "mods" may have got it back to a genuine 200crank maybe....

mine seems to hang around 90-100 no higher... and it's a turbo. is that pretty normal for a 20yr old stock turbo? my car really feels no faster than my mom's 04 camry lol

My fastest N/A 7M-GE heavily modded with 4.3 diff was 129 on the speedo not gps verified.
It was factory 4.3 factory saws wheels & wheel size.
Mods were CAI 3" exhaust hallowed out cat MSD 8MM coil & wires fresh rebuild tuneup.
I drove it like I stole it for about a couple weeks before the piston shot out on number 6.

I now have a new personal record, I set a goal to reach 5k in 5th and acheived it with 215/55/R16 tires (My dad bought them to save gas, then made me pay for them. This was a while ago, I took them off the '91):

215mm = 8.46 in

(5000 rpm / .753 / 3.73) x ((8.46 x .55 x 2) + 16) x 3.14
= 141455.34039 in/min = 133.95 mph :icon_bigg

My 88 n/a was so quiet that I caught myself accidentally doing 120-130 through a large portion of Utah at night... Wondered how I had crossed the whole damn state in 5 hours haha!

And 140.3 huh, IJ? Not too shabby, I only let off since the tires are only rated to ~130. If I had my summer tires on it, I don't see any problem trying to top the thing out on the hill I was going down, it's STEEEEEEEP. ;)

I completely forgot about speed ratings. Mine have an H rating, which is 130 mph. Oops :sarcasm:

Edit: Mods - 3" BIC DDP rerouted, previous owner's 3" cat and 3.5" cat-back with one muffler (hate it, replacing it), apexi air filter and AVC-R EBC, set at ~8.0 psi (it's in kg/cm^2) but creeps past with a 20% duty cycle after 4.5k.

I did 130mph in my 93 civic EX with bolt ons, Help with a little down hill running start haha. But in my bros turbo supra 130 still pulling but let off, he says he did 140 on the same stretch. Sadly iv never done a top speed in my supra cuz motors always been bad and now pulled apart in my garage waiting patiently for my bank account to fill up. But I did E brake it going 50 to 60 going from pavement to gravel. Fun as hell!!! car did a bit of rallying when motor was still in.

Just remembered talk about bros speedo being a little off for what ever reason due to gps not saying the same as gauge, so numbers may be a little off.

My first one was 135 in my 88 hatch accord (first car) Air filter and exhaust, slight downhill.......followed by flashing lights that were trying to catch up for 4 miles, so he said. shit you not let me go 250 dollar ticket. (outside his jurisdiction when he finally got to me. 50 miles form closest station and shift change.

Second was in a customers highly modified Ford GT supercar. Honest to gods truth, car has smaller s/c pulley and puts down right around 850hp to the wheels. had it right to about 185 or so, boss was with me and told me to stop pussy footin it. not sure of the rpm. Tight ass car, once in a life time experience.

Huh what?

As you said the numbers don't lie.

Was just referencing the previous post so it didn't seem completely out of the blue for those not following along closely. ;)

Cool ;)

Just find it funny how some of the guys seems to think 20 years of wear and tear will make their cars faster than new prepped magaziene cars :runaway:
(seems to be mostly the GE guys have a hard time accepting that their cars just aren't that fast)

Mine on a fresh engine would run a GPS verified 128mph and at the time I was very impressed by that as one of the fastest production homologation specials built here the GTHO Phase III Falcon with it's 351Ci Cleveland would only do 144mph.
(a genuine phase 3 sells for 750k+ these days)
