I probably would have felt better about hitting higher if I didn't have shot wheel bearing(s) in the rear... my car was vibrating like a mofo over 50 and felt like it would rattle itself apart at 110 haha (7M-GE, A340E: 110mph with intake and 237k miles)

I don't remember where or when I made these two runs.
Mods: Stage 2 BC cams, MBC I think around 14 PSI on these runs, Maybe open down pipe or HKS super drager, and Intake. W58, 3.91:1 LSD, and 245/45/ZR17

Only had my stock 87 turbo up to 100, was the 2nd day i had it and didn't know what all was wrong but some ass in a suburban kept revving his engine and wouldn't leave me alone on IH-35 so i just put my foot down in 5th from about 70 and it hit 100 with out any problem, felt fine. just didn't want to push my luck.... glad i didn't, next day on the way to work found out i had a coolant leak... fixed coolant leak to find a BHG.... >.>.... I come from a land down under
I have to say all the guys that have posted "I would have gone faster but my ******* was broken/worn out/vibrating" must have a death wish..... :nono:

Pushing a car with known issues is insane, anytime I do a top end run the car is perfect, ditto on people that buy a car and go out and run it had without inspecting EVERYTHING, who knows what the last Gumby has done to it in the past and what's waiting to blow up/fall off/lock up and Kill you stone dead....

I'm NOT saying don't drive fast but please take some care if you're going to as every single high speed accident gives the Govt's ammo to try and ban our hobby or at least over regulate it to the point it's not worth modding a car..

Ditto to that!!! I may drive often, I may drive far and I may drive fast, I may have a couple too many speeding tickets, but I have Zero accidents with now about 1.3 millions miles driven since I earned my DL at 16 years of age (quick I need some wood to knock on...)

The things I always keep in mind are the following: capability of your equipment and the capability of the driver... day/night, dry/wet/slick, full of traffic/empty road... these are all factors in how fast I can go and still be reasonably safe. I am also a pilot and I adhere the same principles in driving as I do flying...

Drive Fast But Drive Safe!

Your diff ratio is 4.10:1. It seems your car is running strong for its age. [sarcasm hat]Suprising since the M engine is one giant design flaw. [/sarcasm hat]

In 84 the 5 speeds got a 4.30 and the automatics stayed with the 4.10, so i would assume that my 85 5-speed had a 4.30 as well. and yeah it did run pretty strong, it was well taken care of with regular maintenance and was only a two owner car all within my family. so it wasn't one of those beat to shit mk2's you see on craigslist.

Dunno, the clock stops at 180kph. High speed runs would be more fun if there wasn't kangaroos to jump out in front of the car at random.lol
