LOL I think Ron has one of those (I wouldn't doubt it) :biglaugh:

Keros said:My only comment here is on the mention of titanium rods.
They would kick alot of ass, leaps and bounds better than any steel rod you could possibly make. Ti has the highest strength to wieght ratio of any metal.
The reasons that it's not commonly done is because the market value of titanium is quite unreasonably high. Also, titanium is umung the hardest materials to work into tight tolorances, it's difficult and expensive... it's possible, but wildly expensive. To forge titanium requires much higher tempratures than steel, and much much larger equipment. Ti alloys (as well as many other high strength metals) also has a slight "memory" (similair to spring steel) that must be taken into consideration during manufacture.
Forging steel into shapes requires low tempratures and tiny equipment to get very nice tolerances... Ti just isn't feasable, which is why, I think, it's not commonly done. Perhaps Ferrari is doing it in their F1 cars, but in a Supra, the rods would cost more than the whole car and the difference would hardly be objectively measurable.

upgradedsupra said:Cunningham makes Titanium rods but mine were custom made for the 7M. They have also been rifle drilled.

Least everyone now jump on the titanium vrs steel bandwagon, remember that just like steel, there are many different grades of titanium.
zbaVR4 said:correct. but lighter rods put less load on bearings at higher rpms

What else do you have in stock??!!
thanks for weighing!
how close were they to eachother? +/- 2 grams?
