Seems everybody is wanting the engine under-cover. Got mine; but, like someone else, I didn't get the 13 bolts. Must check out what it needs. I suspect just new bolts from stock - i.e., nothing special. Loving the pics of people's timing covers, too. I've got both clear and stock; but, I may not go clear until after CA SMOGing... since adjustable cam gears are illegal in CA.
I started out a few days ago cleaning the transmission (R154) and quickly realized what a chore! I think once I find the right grit that it will go faster. I read about how people protect metal after it is polished; but, nobody really talks about protecting a driver (vs. a show car that isn't run much). I'm thinking that most of the effort is wasted once the tranny is installed; but, the pictures going in will be nice
I had previously replaced all the broken clips on the body side molding, and purchased the plastic plugs for the body and doors from Toyota. Today was the first day (after, uh, ten years) that I did a test fit. They look good; but, I need to add double-sided tape to make it final. They look remarkably good considering they've been on the floor for ten years.
Many parts taken off the car were stored in ten plastic milk crates in the back of my garage. I went through them today looking for the transmission mount, and found that four of the crates were empty - meaning, I am making progress. There are a lot of still to be cleaned and polished or painted pieces to go in those last four crates.
