Damn, I really need one of these. It was missing when I bought the car.

I was in the same boat, my car never came with it either. The original owner was not a mechanic at all, so I assume some shop tossed it out one day : (

Part number is 51441-14110. Toyota Online Parts dot com only charges $147 for the part, but their shipping is just over $50. But if you live local to them they appear to allow pickup for only $8. I believe they are in Henrico, Virginia.

Same for the previous owner on mine, couldn't tell me anything so I'm changing everything.

Thanks for the part number and for a quality part the price is fine. But, I'll spend $42 more on shipping, its less than the amount I'll spend on gas and food. I'm a fatass [emoji23]

By the way, any install/removal gotchas or other advice regarding the piece?

Use LARGE washers on the bolts and dont go crazy on the torque. The washers will help prevent the holes from being damaged over time.

Washed her and went to a car meet that is like Coffee and Cars but more calm. I didn't get any pics of the car at the meet but they will be posted online soon from everyone else lol.
This was after washing it always cleans up very well.

Is there any difference between this and the one that would be on a TTR? I have the brake ducts and would rather not have to cut any holes in a brand new one if possible

Cut the upper timing belt cover to show off the beautiful Gates Racing timing belt and some of the pulleys. Ready for paint now!

Doat, your car looks amazing. I didn't like the dark grey trim pieces with a white car at first, but they've definitely grown on me since I've gathered up a set.

Technically yes, it's designed to keep oil and water off the timing belt, but if you're keeping your engine clean, and try not to go off road riding. You will be just fine. There are plenty of guys that don't event have an upper timing belt cover installed.

I wish I could find the thread of the guy who had a kicked up pebble go into his open timing belt cover causing the belt to snap when the pebble became wedged between a pulley and the belt. Major mayhem. It was probably 6-8 years ago at least.

Well, maybe so, that's why I just cut a hole at the top of the cover and not just leave it off completely. I would put a clear cover over it, but I refuse to pay $200 just for a timing belt cover.

I did a search using the parts catalogs at Amayama and pulled up the only listing they had for a Twin Turbo R JZA70.

Part number came up the with the same 51441-14110, so it seems like it should work...

Might be best to check with other TTR owners to be sure though. I don't know how much Amayama parts catalogs can be trusted.
