What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Reconnected my igniter... I drove to school today and the car was doing great, pulled into my parking spot and all the sudden I could see/hear the car stumbling at idle. I had to get to class so I turned it off, but knew something was wrong with it. When I got back into it leaving school I started having the exact same symptoms as when my ECU caps went bad: misfiring, not pulling past 2500, cutting with more than 20% throttle. So I skipped work and went straight home, and took out my ECU to open it and look for busted caps. I couldn't find anything, but the car was putting off a code 14 which is also related to the igniter so I simply took it off and plugged it back in... started the car up and it worked flawlessly... I'm so happy my ECU isn't fucked up.

Also cleaned my engine bay, and put some WD-40 on some skuff marks (can't believe that worked as well as it did)

Installed a vacuum manifold and mounted a MAP sensor in prep for AEM EMS. :) Oh, and provided dedicated vacuum to the AFPR.

I have the lovely duty of adjusting my valves. Is it true that I can use shims from a Yamaha or Honda? I had heard a rumor, but I can't find an exact answer. I'm on kind of a tight budget, and dealer prices are a bit steep. Also, since I have this all opened up I assume that I should check my Head Studs? If they're aftermarket (ARP I believe), is there a different Torque specification? Also, are the injectors on a N/A 7M supposed to be 550?

Thank you,

Greg

shims for the ford focus Zetec engine are identical, i run them in my N/A. The Ford shims are waaay cheaper than toyota

x2, that does look very nice. Color code? Is it the Toyota 6L9?

Te72.... The car went from color code 3E5 to Imperial Jade 6Q7.

BrandonW... Only found on a '98 Supra. His is now pretty unique.

Hotwheelsjr.... Thanks so much. And yes, it does really pop.

That's where my oil cooler is, and I'm going to move it. It's so damn hot, it stops the radiator from cooling properly in hot weather... and hot weather here is average where you are.

Interesting.. I will keep that in mind. It may go to the passenger fog light area.

That's what I'm considering, too. If I don't get enough airflow there for it, I figure I'll put a fan (or two) on it, but it gets so hot, I don't think it will require anywhere near the airflow the radiator needs.
