I can't even get it to the area where the numbers are when I set it all to TDC the mark is about an inch to the left of where the numbers start.

Does it the timing mark move at all when you rotate the CPS either direction? Is the CPS in there correctly?

Yea it moves the mark and I made sure the CPS went in correctly because I slowly slid it in with ease and pulled it out to check that it was still lined up. I highly doubt my timing belt is incorrect because if it was off the car would run like crap but the car runs fine. When my CPS cover comes in I'll set the motor to TDC again and remove the cap and watch the gears as I put it in but is there anything else I should check?

I'm sure he meant that the key way on the crankshaft became wider that the key ! Hence "hogged out" . Then the crank pulley will wander around and make the timing marks look like their bouncing ...

Exactly, that crankshaft
now needs machine work to hold the key again, and the edge of the key wore out and is rounded down.

Ah I got ya, so remove the pulley and check the key for damage or something?

The key can be replaced, but the little rectangle section of the crankshaft is what holds it secure in place and mine is worn out. I'll have to take a picture and show you what to look for.

I also finally brought my new Supra home tonight. Its overheating... Changed out the thermostat and she is still hot. I've got a new water pump for it, I'll change that tomorrow.

I just love you man, I am a very visual person if someone can show me what to look for and such then I fully understand and know what I am doing. If the key is worn then what do I have to do from there?

Lol, thanks. I try to be of help :) If the key needs replaced, it's simple, just stick another one in. If it's not, then the crankshaft needs some machine work on the grooves that hold the key. I'll take pics of my hogged out crank tonight after work.
