Motor can be sold.. but if you add up the parts for building one properly.. you can take advantage of someone who just needs cash and save yourself a ton.. IF YOU BUY a known good build... (that's key)

I figured it doesn't hurt to have a spare that was built right too haha. Yeah buying a good build is what I'm looking for now.

Maxburn, I have to agree with Grandavi. I know it sucks but you should probably just buy a new one. If the interior is trashed from the smoke, the body is trashed, and stuff got in the motor it isn't worth messing with. At least you didn't have that one for too long and weren't able to get too attached to it.

I just dropped my Supra off at the exhaust place. It should be done sometime this afternoon. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time :)

Speeding tickets and lawyer fees are usually lifestyle choices.. lol. Buy a radar detector.. I just bought the new Escort Passmax and gave my wife the 9500ix. (of course.. its legal where I live)

Haha I've decided to just go fast getting up to the speed limit or on a track (maybe on once in a blue moon getting into it on a deserted back road with a radar dector on hand haha) but 1 speeding ticket was enough for me (103 in a 55) with a broken speedo haha i knew i was speeding but by the tach it should have been about 80 or so haha but that was found by pacing another car so..

If you haven't paid the ticket yet, CONTEST IT!! I took my sup to the local dealer, they confirmed the speedo was off, took the paperwork to the courthouse, she glanced at the paperwork for 10 seconds, stamped it, paid a small fine for a cracked windshield and walked away. Really!!

BTW, my speedo was too conservative - if it said 80, you were going 70..The faster you went, the more it dropped off. Didn't matter. They didn't care.

I got caught doing 20 over.

It's not too bad if you go at it at the right angle.. get a long extension and a socket that fits the clamp.. turn the clamp so it's facing the intake, farthest from the valve cover.. attack from behind. Done in seconds. 7m4evr would have been done in seconds too, when he blew that hose on the side of the road, but he didn't have a long enough extension.

That damn hose cost me one pissed of wife that night! I used to hate that hose with a passion, but not that i've had to replace it a couple different times, its meh...Thanks again for the backup that night!

Got my resonator and exhaust tips delivered yesterday and my muffler delivered today. Hopefully I can get it all welded up tomorrow at the local muffler place.

How much were those tips? I need to put as set on my supra.

I installed my supra stick delete kit today, also know as new struts.
suprastrutsinstalled.jpg

Then started the motor (i know my oil cap is off) to find the oil leak i thought i had. turned out to be gone and i'm suspecting the oil i saw was really atf from my power steering.
the down side? it sounds like my throttle body body to manifold has a vacuum leak. :nono: Supra maintenance the never ending story.

Trust me I feel you man I am still hunting down my oil leak, replaced my turbo drain and feed lines with the DM kit, re-sealed my oil pan, replaced valve cover gaskets and it's still leaking but not as much as it used to at least. Also to top it off I went through the headache and hassle of fitting the DM exhaust head stud kit in the hopes it would stop my exhaust leak, nope. Still hear the ticking noise when I accelerate it's driving me ape shit I hope my manifold isn't warped.

Nope! Got it the next day tho. She goes it never fails anytime we take the car out something always happens lol (from couplers blowing off, ground to the ecu breaking, coolant hoses coming off.) I'm like yeah but it's so worth it....apparently we don't share that thought...they will never get it. Just like I will never get spending $300 on a purse when the one at the store on the other side of the mall has one I think is much cooler for only $40.

I got the resonator and muffler installed today. It looks beautiful, just the way I wanted it to. I think it sounds really good, and the guy who owns the exhaust shop said "it has a nice growl". The only thing is it drones more than I would like it to around 1600-2300 rpms. It definitely isn't as noticeable outside as it is inside. Right now I'm thinking of 1) adding another resonator, 2) having him weld me up a hemholtz or side branch resonator, or 3) adding some dynamat to the rear hatch to try and lessen it.

The tips were pretty pricey. $30 each on Summit.
