Started work on swapping wiring harnesses.. got the old one off and the new one basically back on.. was cleaning up the contacts in the cps and needed to turn the engine over. Hit the key and guess what. Click. Back to the relay mod for me, atleast until I can figure out the issue with the starter circuit. I figured it would be in the engine harness but it appears not...

Fixed my temperature sensor and timed the car to 10 degrees she runs beautifully now but for some reason I am hitting fuel cut with the divorced downpipe, any thoughts on why this is happening? A friend of mine is selling me a blitz boost controller for $60, so I will use that to control the boost. I can't get over how awesome the DDP sounds just starting up the car is badass lol.

Because you are boosting too much lol. One of the main reasons I went with just a wide mouth dp. And a boost controller can't lower boost any lower than wastegate pressure.

Well I got rid of my boost controller and put the stock hose back on the boost gauge reads at about stock psi, 6-7 psi.

Yea that must be what is causing it, time to get some brake cleaner and spray around. I can't get over the sound of it 7M sounds so meaty, before the DDP with the new fan clutch it sounded like a truck all you heard was the prop fan now I don't even hear the prop fan lol.

I was 16 once :p lol I used to love loud exhaust... My blue supra had a big bov that I could never hear over my 4" straight pipe that came from my t70 turbo and dumped out under the passenger seat ... Now I want it as quiet as possible while still allowing for good flow... to be able to hear when I get rodnock :p

I know I am! :D

No but seriously I don't get this craze about people making their cars as loud as possible.

ahaha I only have the downpipe and it's fine to me even cruising on the highway it's not a loud drone you can hear it a little bit but not loud enough to be annoying.

I agree it's got a pretty quiet hum at cruise and I do miss the fact that I used to be able to drown out the bumblebee exhaust sound when a riced Honda is cruising near me just by shifting :p

Funny you mentioned that I did that on my way to work and I just gave it a little more gas and drowned out his fart can at like 3k rpm lol.

Fabricated and installed a new frame rail and made up a new piece for the floor. Tried to get as close as I could to original.

nice^.
so i diagnosed my starting problem............ it was actually the starter, yay.
here's a helpful hint for replacing the starter............. move the master cylinder out of the way, it's a shitload easier.
on that note, wtf did toyota use nuts and bolts down there? why not just thread it into the bellhousing?

I believe the later revision was to thread the starter. The top nut for the starter is my least favorite fastener in the entire car.

Today, I removed my upper intake manifold in order to replace the coolant hose from the lower manifold to the ISCV, which I damaged while removing the ISCV in order to replace the injectors.

I did indeed have a silicone hose for that, but the stock constant tension clamps won't fit over it, so I need to get other clamps for it. I don't think that it needs much pressure to prevent it from coming off/leaking, so I'll just pick up some cheapish worm clamps, and leave the heads facing where I can get to them easier next time. (The constant tension clamp had the tines facing straight up under the manifold. It's a good thing that I decided to remove the upper manifold to get to them, because otherwise, I'd have had to lift the motor.

In the silicone hose kit, I can't find the hose that goes to the throttle body, nor the one between the TB and the ISC. (I figured that I'd just change them all over.) I did find vacuum hoses for the brake booster, which I wasn't really expecting. I know that there are some PCV hoses, and the ISC ones as well.

The cold start injector is totally gunked over with oil and grease. I figured that I could clean it with carb cleaner. The inside of the intake manifold is all pretty gross. There's oil getting in the intake from somewhere. Probably the PCV system. The lower IC line didn't look too bad, so probably not intake side turbo seals. It'll be a good thing when I swap out this motor. In the meantime, I think I'll use the upper intake manifold that I prepared with the TB and ISCV and EGR that it already had.

Looking at the intake manifold, and I see that Toyota took a lot of care to make sure that everything coming into the intake came in at center. The ISCV, EGR and TB are all centered on the runners. This is obviously not possible for FFIMs, or are the people making FFIMs for the 7M taking this into account and doing something to make the FFIM work in a similar manner? If there's EGR/ISC, are they running that to the base of the TB? What about cold start injectors? Those (when present) seem to be still in the center of the manifold.

My son waxed the 1987 MK3 today... (he put a kick ass stereo and sub into it yesterday) and then he took it for a drive.

Was planning on selling him the car.. now I guess I gotta find him a new one.. lol.

GMC 1500 truck with a non-attentive driver didn't like the car.
