How did that go? I should probably do my timing belt soon and may do the water pump at the same time.
It's not hard just back breaking because you are bent over the entire time I got to the point of removing the old timing belt within 2 hours I could have done it faster if I wasn't cleaning up the old gasket from the water pump or even dealing with removing the water pump itself. If you want to just replace the timing belt you can remove the old one in less than 2 hours easily especially if you have done it before. I broke the connector on one of the temperature sensors on the thermostat housing, not the one toward the front of the house the one that is inside of the power steering reservoir bracket below a green connector.

Anyone ever strap a queen size mattress to the roof of their supra? I'm debating doing it right now if I can't find someone with a truck

Finally got the car running, timed nearly right will have to borrow my friend's light to time it perfectly, no leaks but I cannot tell what my temperature is because I broke my damn connector for the gauge. I installed the DDP the part that connects to the rest of the exhaust isn't oval enough you have to modify that flange to get it to fit to the stock exhaust. It sounds like a total beast now best $200 I've spent. I will post up a video later tonight after I shower and get something to eat, haven't had anything to eat literally all day I just worked on the car and drank a powerade.

If you just get a female spade connector that will work for the temp gauge.

It happens with me every time I work on the car.

I still have it but it ripped or broke at the wire and there isn't enough wire sticking out of the spade connector to solder it back together.

Just strip the wire and crimp on a new female spade terminal..

yea I plan on doing that when I get a female spade that has some wiring sticking out of the connector or whatever. I may just use one from my accord since I never use that car and it will never overheat lol. I did hit fuel cut though when I took the car out for a spin with the DDP but a friend of mine is going to sell me a blitz boost controller.

Here is a quick video I made on the way home, should have gone higher up with the revs but I thought there was a cop going the opposite direction.

Alright, cool. I haven't taken it off before, but things like this seem to usually go pretty well if you follow the TSRM. Its when you get into the modifications/upgrades that things can start to not go together so well. Or so it seems...

Yea I found that out today lol this is my first modification I've done to a car and the first real mod for the supra other than an intake for the turbo.

I'm talking about the generic ones. You buy them in packs of like 20 and crimp them on?

That's why I'm happy with my N/A Supra. There isn't a whole lot to modify so it just stays as my good looking cruiser/GT car.

Yea I see what you mean but those are just the connectors itself I need the connector with the wire inside of it and some of it sticking out so I can crimp the exposed wire I have to it unless what you are talking about is exactly that?

While my '89 was NA, I built it into a very nice IASCA SQ car. It was something that I could do. It doens't have a whole lot of that left in it. After I got the turbo engine, someone broke in and ripped out most of the good stuff. I kind of patched it back together to have music, but I never rebuilt the system properly. I was pretty happy with the NA Supra... But not enough to pass on the opportunity to buy and install a 7M-GTE.

I discovered that a V8 GM fuel pump blockoff plate is identical to the J tube blockoff plate. (Of course the J tube goes where the mechanical fuel pump went in the pre EFI days. It used to be driven off of a cam on the oil pump driveshaft. A distributor used to be driven off of that, too. The gear is still there for it.) My guess is that the mechanical fuel pump was probably very similar if not identical to the GM one. I recognised the pattern a long time ago, but today I determined that they are in fact identical in bolt pattern and shape. Nice thing about the ones for the GM is that they're cheap, and I can just pick one off the rack at the local parts shop.

I wanna do this as well, I don't have any issues with my arm rests ATM, but I wanna prevent having any down the line. My old 87 my buddy put his elbow through the passenger side one :/
