umm...im sorry? I want one that sounds nice, and i would like to replace my stock one as it's very old, and probably doesn't work very well anymore... sound is really all that matters to me at this point, since i'm not running insane amounts of boost and I don't plan to anytime soon!

(Just me venting)....(no pun intended)

Do some research there are "issues" with venting an AFM equipped car to atmosphere.....

If you go for another recirculated one you'll be fine but you won't get the "sound" that seems important.

LMAO :slap:

I don't think you can hear mine in the Vids I did.

You can only hear mine at around 3>4000 rpm anything over that the engine fan drowns it out.

The Bosch recirc is probably the best of the cheaper BoV's around and I know TurboSmart so a budget one now as well!

I had a turboxs, it sounded alright for having a huge horn on it but I replaced it with a HKS bypass valve. Doesn't make much sound but does its job.

I'm with johnathan1 on this one. I don't think it's ricer to care how your bov sounds. He obviously isn't indicating he wants cool sound even if it causes engine damage or compressor surge. That's like saying its ricer to care how your paint looks. Not to shit on you IJ you make alot of very helpful comments and give great answers but c'mon we all have badass cars some of us like our unused boost to scream it.

I have a oldschool greddy type s bov, it had that " sound the green eclipse makes from fast and the furious!" but when at low boost it flutters and sounds like compressor surge but it isnt, I would much rather have a tial q.

I have a greddy type s and mine does not flutter at all. Its loosened all the way and just makes a long whistle sound at no boost.

I now use a Synchronic BOV as a few cheapies I used still caused turbo flutter on the stock twins on the 1J.
I was surprised that the cheap ones as well as the stock Denso BOV's still had flutter. It was hard to hear and standing above the engine bay you would not notice it but if I stuck my ear against the air filter, I could hear it and that bothered me. It will hurt your ear but it was the only way I could hear the flutter over the engine rpms and blow off.

The synchronic is the only one ive had that eliminates it completely and it costs less than most. Well designed and should last as there is no diaphragm to fail.

I have a sheepdog prof, I get surge under 5psi but a nice clean "wooosh!" at wot. It can be recirculated but I haven't did it yet to see how it reacts to it.
