Spank her.

Seriously, you need to make a deal with the landlord. If he's presented with a choice of losing money or working out a solution, he'll work it out.

If he's unwilling to work it out, stop paying rent. He can take your deposit instead, and you'll end up none the worse for wear, you'll just end up finding another place that you can share 3 ways instead of 4.

Trying to get the 6 year old chick to play by the rules isn't really an option - first of all it's unlikely as hell, and secondly it's not your responsibility unless you're in love with her, having sex with her, or related to her.

Well we had considered writing a joint letter to her parents, as i dont think that they have the slightest idea of how financially irresponsible she is. It may just end up with a shouting match of 'this is my little girl, you're lying!' etc, but it may raise an eyebrow - and her parents are more likely to sort her out.

I might even get my £50!

The landlord will *not* budge. Unfortunately, the rental market here is in favour of the landlord 9 out of 10 times. If we withhold rent, we get evicted, regardless of who's fault something is. I cannot afford to lose a £700 deposit either, i'm trying to move away from london and need every penny i can get.

I don't see how not paying your share for living expenses is any different than flat out theft.

To me, she's a fucking thief and that's it. She knows damn well by not paying you that you're paying for her shit. I would definitely flip a bitch on her. I'm a calm, cool and collected guy but when it involves serious money being taken from me I get very angry.

Is it not ok to contact the police for this sort of thing? I just don't get how not paying your rent is ok :dunno:

Eviction is usually within 24 hours, it used to be 2 months, but too many landlords got fucked over, so they changed the law.

I have 4 months rent left to pay at £333 a month (per person), that works out to £1330 something.

I've denied access to her laptop on the wifi network already, did it just before i crawled into bed to watch Jericho :p

Hell, i called the police the other night about someone smashing up a Mercedes SLR with a length of pipe, took them an hour to show up and they werent remotely fucking bothered about the whole thing, so even if there was something they could charge her with, they probably wouldnt, just to cut down on paperwork...

No seperate breaker? Damn. That would solve the problems. Hows the civil court system in Britain? If it even exists, I suppose.

In my college town, rent problems are abundant. Fortunately the civil court system (from what I've heard) is really great. If you're a student you get dirt cheap legal assistance if you need it and you dont have to wait forever to get results.

:dunno: just throwin ideas out there, but I'm sorry about your situation Kai. I'd be incredibly frustrated.

Easy solution....
Kick her out..
Either kick her out or put up with her shit...
kicking her out with save you all the headaches...

I just read its not that easy...Well find out what borthers her alot.
Then do those things that borthers her...do it every day till she get so fed up and decides to leave on her own.
Example Like if she hates rap music..play rap music...

cheers,
Roy

I *could* go the route of the small claims court, but that would take more time than we have left on the tenancy unfortunately - things work slooooooowly here :/

Dachande - nice idea, although maybe going a little too far :p

Tte - Read through, see why we can't, at least legally :/

As stated, the internet has now been turned off for her specific laptop :)

Power to her room cant be turned off due to there not being individual breakers.

I like the mouse idea....how about a handful of live fishing bait in her pillowcase? ;)
