Unsure about how to deal with a flatmate...

Oh i've already asked for and GOTTEN advice. I also was asking if my action in cutting off her internet was fair. Because of that, she's now feeling very uncomfortable and unwelcome. It's not much, granted, but its better than nothing and *maybe*, just maybe, i'll get £50 out of her for the phone bill, which would be a nice start.

I love all your sounds.
If you are losing your deposit, giving notice is pointless. You should give notice, but it serves you no purpose. Your best bet is to get the deadbeat chick's parents on the autopay for the rent. It sounds like you need to stay till September, so make it happen or get out.

You choose the video topic, it sounds like you have plenty there.

I bet your next flatmates will be chosen much more carefully.

Aaah, there is a point, because its a legally binding contract. If we skip out and just leave, ok, we'll lose our deposit, but we're also liable for the rent up until the contract period ends.

If we terminate our tenancy now, and properly, we only lose the deposits.

The girls parents are officially her guarantors, which were required off everyone other than myself before we moved in.

As for my next set of flat mates....well i'm going to move in with only one guy - friend of mine i've known for many years, and we get on well, we know each other better, and neither of us have the mentality of a 4 year old :)

And i'll be going to wales :D

Haha - she replied yesterday with a big long whinge about her having more important things to be doing than paying bills, so i went ape shit and wrote down a list of why she's so crap, and financially irresponsible. So she tore it up this morning. I wrote another one saying 'still behaving like a child are we? hardly surprising.' and threatening that i'll turn off the electricity and then get the bailiffs in to cover what she owes...

Am i being annoying or fair? :D

Honestly... I think you are being too damn lenient... Find some chick that will kick her ass for money. I'll gladly paypal you a couple of "pounds" towards the payment.

Lol - well, shortly after that 'campaign' and a large message on her myspace saying 'are you going to pay up or carry on being a freeloader?', i got £50 stuffed under my door...but i havent turned the internet back on yet ;)

Oh and she deleted me off myspace. boo-fricken-hoo...

Definitely not. What are the guaranter's there for if not to pay the bills if she can't? I'm new to the renting/leasing world but I don't think she deserves anything short of constant harrassment and annoyance. I dont think she should hold a key to the place until she has paid IN FULL every cent of her share for the intire stay.

I would never expect anyone to pay for my share of anything. And if they do, I make sure they know I'm thankful.

forget them. move out of the flat, and leave them to do what they want. still 'technically' live there, but live somwhere else. dont pay the bills, and just say "i dont even live here, and alison doesent pay either." what does she need all that money for? is she saving up for somthing? is she into drugs?? what?
